Go up the marksman tree first and get crippling shot. It is THE single target attack for carbineers. Great damage modifier. Haven't even picked up the others yet (save for the combat xp ones).

Pve wise, actionshot 1 and 2 are still good for bleeding a target out (well, good in PvP also). Being a ch, you will have a tank, so no need to worry baout not being able to pin targets due to posture change "fix".

Personally, I'm going the dabbler route, and picking up 3 tiers of BH carbine on top of carbineer skills.

Hope this helps.

go up the chain with crippling shot (i forget which, don't really care right now either, lol). then, i'd grab the entire speed chain. finish off the tier4 with crippling shot. work up the counterattack branch.

another route to go is get burst-shot (its in the counterattack bonus branch) as many people prefer it to full-auto single2 as a single-target special. it IS better, but has no chance for anything except damage. if you grab burst shot first, i would still head to criplling shot next, then all of speed, finish off marksmanship, then rest of teh tree.

Go get cripplingshot and the rest is all unimportant, get the 3 levels of BH carbine though otherwise you'll still be slow as a mofo

Ok i read these boards a bit and believe me i thought this through and i feel that carbine right now is the better choice for me over pistoleer for my play style.

I need some advice on what skills to get first, and what YOU do in pvp to be effective in solo and group vs group situations.

I am a master pistoleer , master CH atm with a tad of medic ...

Working toward the same thing only switching master pistol for master carbine ..

I do have a jumpstart on the combat exp line of carbineer i have the capped limit of 300,000 stored of from pve i did after reaching master pistoleer.

So when i get novice carbineer i'll instantly get teir III in the combat exp line which will be a nice jumpstart.

-------------------------

if you wanna know why i switched it's simple..

-Pistol does awful dmg due to lack of a good supply of AR1 weapons and no ar2 weapons

-Pistol has NO ranged neg effects such as dizzy stun etc these are effective in pvp

-Pistol has no AE dmg styles anymore (multitarget doesn't do ae dmg and dis II still has the pre-nerf kd ham cost) AE dmg = good

-I understand the big draw backs being the ham cost of carbine weapons but my guild of about 30 people has 3 master doctors and 4 combat medics ... also we have a near master chef so buffs aren't an issue.

I am a master carbinier myself. Whoever said crippling shot was the best, they are WAY wrong.

I use scatter shot 2 and charge shot exclusively.

Heres why, Scatter shot 2 ( hits the a random pool like crippling) but also has a chance of hitting 1 or 2 other pools. It does about 100 damage less on its max hits than crippling shot, but costs less and fires faster.
