Please no whining and current bugs! I want a discussion what our profession shoudl be like, i.e. what we should be good at and our weakness.
First an opinion about how the other professions should be:
Rifle:
High accuracy, high damage, Long range, vulnerable at point blank, low speed, high HAM
Pistol:
Low-medium damage, low-medium speed, short range, bad att long range, low HAM
I also think that rifle/pistoleer should have no area of effect moves (not sure if they have or not) or at least with low damage.
I guess the above is also the intention from the devs for those classes. What it actually has become is a different story.
Now to carbines:
- We should be the best class for crowd control and area of effect attacks. Our area automatic fire moves should always delay the targets movement (maybe a longer stun).
- An automatic weapon has low accuracy but that is compensated with fireing multiple rounds. I think our "full auto" moves should have low accuracy but firing several shots at the same time (individually calculated). Maybe it is already so but I don't think it is (I think it is only a normal accuracy calculation and then random damage effects). For example instead of firing one shot with +50 accuracy one full auto shot should fire 5 shots with +10 accuracy (or what-ever the numbers should be).
- We should be really good at firing while moving. At least when firing full auto (the same "fire many shots with low accuracy - maybe some hits" philosophy like above).
- HAM cost SHOULD be high. I think it is logical that our moves cost more in HAM than a pistol.
- Speed should be high. Single shots hsould maybe be about the same as for a pistol, but when doing full auto there should be a lot more bullets/rays in the air than a pistol could achieve.
- All full auto moves should cause lower posture. I don't think there should be a timer like with KD (don't think posture down should be nerfed since you can still fire with a lower posture). But it should not always cause a posture down. Another approach is to make stun last konger (but it is more logical to have posture down).
