Carbineer Archive
Thread: I love Carbine, but is it worth it to take it to master??
I love carbine and always will, used it in beta, and now that i am in SWG permanent, I will use it all the way, but I am just wondering from ppl that have it at master, is it worth it? or could I drop a bit for somthing else?
And also do I need any training in pistol skill, was going to go to Novice pistolieer also for some close range firepower?
I will never spec out of carbine, ever!! no matter what they nerf it with. I just want to know how to maximize my carbine and be able to have other things as well.
just some friendly advice for a fellow carbine user.
I was thinking about Carbineer....4,3,4,3 if I have some pistol support. or I can gomaster Carbine instead of pistol.
Well I am mostly PvsE and once in a great while I will PvsP on purpose, otherwise its an accident. So I wanted to mix carbine/Creature Handler/Ranger skills so I could be good and exploring and killing the big mobs without worrieing about getting ganked by the really big/mean mobs.
So I wanted to know what is enough in Carbine to get most of what i want without going full master, and not being able do other things. I want enough CH to tame most animals and Ranger to be able to track them, yet still have good range weapon skill.
ok, using the swg: char generator that i do (found at) :
http://www.beafraid.com/swgcb/swg-cb.php?as=196&t=4
what i took you to mean was: a) most animals. that'd be tame4/train4 in ch. b) track stuff. well, not sure what that'll end up being under in ranger, so master ranger. then i played with the carbineer skill tree
what i realized is this char gen has some of teh skill points for carbineer messed up, lol (the totals are good...i compared and counted, but some of the skill boxes are off), but here's teh setup i'd suggest for you, given that a) and b) are true.
expert carbine assault tactics: (most of the speed mods, only missing 5 from tier4 and 10 from master. those are a lot combined, but just the 5 from master isn't worth it, imo).
master carbine marksmanship: gives accuracy (which is especially needed after latest patch), as well as crippling shot (my fave carbineer special.)
master carbine special abilites: gives bonusto accuracy while moving, as well as full-auto area 1 and 2, and charge shot 1 and 2. all of those seem like they'd be useful to you for what you want to do. according to the math of the char gen it leaves you with 0 skill points, but i didn't feel like adding them all up to make sure that was correct. take the char gen witha grain of salt, but it is still highly useful in planning your (latest) char changes.
hope this helps, (and no, the char gen isn't mine...a friend found a post for it a long time ago, and i bookmarked it.)
