Thread: Problem with Actionshot.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but there seems to be a big problem with the actionshot line. That is that while it doesn't actually knock down, or change posture it still triggers the timer so that if you, or anyone else in your group attempts to use knockdown or suppression fire... they can't.

This I find very annoying. The whole idea is that people shouldn't be able to solo reds, they should group etc. and that's find and dandy. But now I can't use my bleeds in a fight, because it prevents others from using their specials. This needs to be fixed. I don't care if actionshot 1 & 2 never give knockdown or posture change - I use them for the bleed. But dammit if they're not going to actually have an effect, they should at least not prevent other people from using things that -do- work.

I agree. I have used AS for bleed as my primary reason (I didn't know for a long time that it did a posture down)

action shot and action shot 2 DO posture change, thus the timer

them being affected by the timer, more than anything else, PROVES to me that the pc truly IS intentional. (i've been wondering that for over a montha nd a half, and scared to death of the answer...then this happens lol)

and, i've noticed, a FAILED pc/kd kicks in the timer, too. so, grab a largish group with at least one ch if you want to kill anything that used to be hard at all. while i disagree with the implementation, and will until they remove the magic force-field from the game, i AM working on ways to get around it. will let you know as soon as i do (IF i do =/

Similar results for me.

Evolutionary theory of the day: God nerfed the Dodo into extinction. Many, many eons ago, the Dodo started as the Phoenix, a great and wonderous bird. However, all the other birds bitched, so slowly God ate away at the beauty and power of the Phoenix until only the poor stupid Dodo was left.

I only even see the posture change happen once in a blue moon. More often it goes something like this -

I fire off actionshot2. Hopefully my intended target starts to bleed. It and whatever other creatures were in the radius come right for me. Any delay in this is no greater than when I lead with a normal shot and I'm prone and have masked scent. But from then on when I use actionshot I see the nice little message on my screen about how my attempt to posture change has failed. Maybe it's just me, because I haven't timed it, but it also seems like the timer lasts for more than 30 seconds.

The real irony is that while soloing has gotten harder, it's made it even more difficult to group with my friends if I want to advance. I regularly group with a Bounty Hunter, and the bleeds were a way to keep up with the damage he was dishing out so I'd get reasonable xp. Now the bleeds are a way to really piss him off, and get us incapped as his suppression fire fails.

Maybe I'll switch to using fullauto2 since it still seems to work, but I don't think encouraging me to solo more was really the point of this. I'm also interested to hear what other people are doing in groups, other than crippling shot and hiding behind the rancor.

ah yes! that would be the 'draws aggro even though what i did didn't do anything to them because aoe is seriously b0rked the first time you use it in combat' bug that doesn't exist.

sorry for the sarcasm, but...well, its true. with every (EVERY!!) carbineer aoe special, you draw aggro appropriately, but only the target selected has anything done to it. subsequent aoe attacks (usually! not always! hahaha! the bug bandit strikes again!) seem to work as intended.

as1 is single-target only, though, and if no pc occurs, well...it resisted, and you're screwed for 30 seconds. the timer being tied to the mob is the single greatest fact i hate about the kd/pc nerf. granted, tying it to the player would make us even worse and less desirable, but at least it follows SOME form of logic.

Actionshot still causes a posture-down, but they get back up so fast the most of the time I don't even notice.
