Thread: Petition to FIX +SPEED

Carbineers only get +60 to speed. (Pisteleers get +74, rifle is +90). Speed is currenly broken where you dont get much increase until somewhere between +81-90. (Why do you think riflemen probably have more people going to master than any other combat class? Strafe2(AOE, randompool attack?), yeah it's nice, but most riflemen will say to get the large increase in speed that they get at master)

ANd guess what? MBH get +80 to speed for both carbine and pistel. that means they only need 10? more skill mods(not sure where between 81-90 the increase is at) to get this massive speed increase.

Here is what needs to be fixed:

  1. Fix +speed so it is a straight % increasefor the speed of a weapon. No need to get to +90 to see a noticable speed increase. and even out the +speeds a bit, too much difference betweent the 3. OR

  2. ALL3 (rifle, carbine, pistel)should get +90 to speed. Right now ONLY BH/carbine or BH/pistel get the real use of the speed increase.

Speed is the most important factor.

Yeah, there are many things more important than speed. But this affects several classes (riflemen, pistels, and carbineer). Its fairly straight forward. (Easy to understand why, and maybe easy to fix.) And once it is fixed, there is very little chance that it will be nerfed. (ie. t-21 was broken, then fixed, then nerfed. then refixed).

Every little fix helps.Hopefully it will add up to the game becoming more stable.

why do rifles get speed mods, i think it should be so that pistols get the biggest speed mod and rifles get the biggest accuracy mod, and we get a bit of both (since we are like a middle class)

Option 1 is the way to go, and really needed. 2 wouldnt really fix much in the long run.

It wouldnt make the speed increase any more noticable at lower levels, but it'd be much better for the balance of the weapons.. It doesnt need to be that noticable anyways, cause if it is, the increase is so huge again that it ends up capping the speeds and you have that problem again As long as the increase is there, and all professions get an equal benefit from it

Reason it's so noticable now is because it's a delay decrease percentage, which ends up suddenly capping all weaponspeeds. It depends on the weapon's speed when it happens, but itsapproximately anywhere from +60 to +100 mod. (the faster the sooner obviously)

As an addition after browsing the other forums today, there's a pretty good thread about this going on the general discussion forum.

I dont think the numbers should be taken quite literally since all the "theoretical" dps comparisons are always biased in one way or another, but it does give a very good idea of what the issue itself is. A post by the same guy is also stickied on the pistoleer forums now (Basically the same post with different responses)

I think it might be more logical to have speed increase on carbine weapons than increasing speed skill. A trained rifle men can fire faster since he is more skilled at aiming etc and then it is logical that they get a better skill mod. An automatic weapon doesn't require the same skill to fire rapidly (but being more accurate is).

Or maybe have two speed skill modifier one for single shot fire and one for auto fire. You would get a higher speed skill when doing single shots than auto.

/sign, cause our class definitly needs looked at in this and more areas.

I'm not for making all the combat classes the same. I like variety in weapon choice and action, but do believe out class needs examined more.
