Sorry, dumb question: does a carbine's performance (e.g. accuracy, speed, damage, etc.) decrease as its condition goes down? Currently, i have it repaired only when it gets really decayed... but am wondering if there would be any benefit to repairing it more often. TIA...

Not to my knowledge.

Yes and no...

As the weapon gets lower in durability...the damage seems to start going down. However, it doesnt seem to happen until around ~250. It definately drops fast at 100.

What I do is use a carbine until around 250 and then it becomes mylair carbine which I used to kill lairs off.

My experience supports Nova's statements.

You have a lower chance of failing a repair if you repair your weapon before 50% condition.

yes it does. As the carbine wears down it doesn't hit the max as often as it did when new.
Once it gets past 25% condition damage falls off.

To my knowledge, nova is correct.

Just yesterday my laser carbine was down to 3 condition, and I hardly doing any damage.. I noticed it after killing mobs that should have been giving me 2k xp were giving me around 50 instead. Equipped a brand new laser carb out of my pack and it was all sweet again.

Well i know for a fact, YES it does, once the condition goes lower then 25% once it goes lower then that the min and max dm is reduced (have had this happen with many weapons) For instance i had a DXR6 that did 150 - 260 dm once it got lower then 25% condition it droped to (if i remember correctly)~ 148 - 154 dm.

Also, usually a succesful repair will restore lost damage due to condition. However (not sure if this is a bug, or if it has to do with how succesful the repair was) sometimes it doesn't repair lost damage, so you should always repair it before it reaches this point justto be safe.
