Thread: No longer a master
Well in my effort to become Force Sensitive I have begun surrendering my carbineer skills to go up armorsmith and pistoleer.
I'm a 0-0-1-0 pistoleer and I'm almost as good as a Master Carbineer, its insane.
Since I mastered carbineer I have yet to beat anyone in a duel, I can get one KD off but the rest always "fail to knockdown my opponent" even when spamming it.
Reading your post, you haven't obviously understood what carbineer was about.
Our KD shot isvery specific in it's bugginess and your description of it is totally erronous.
I have to disagree with you...
I have been a Master Carbineer...then a BH/carbineer...then a pistoleer (not master)/CH and now I am heading back to Master Carb/CH.
I found pistol painful. It was just fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire OMG ITS ONLY HALF DEAD fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire.Maybe people like that, but man my fingers hurt when I was done. It was just no fun watching the little dink dink dink on the targets health bar. I like seeing big chunks of the bar evaporate. I also seriously missed my range knockdown.
The HAM costs were better I admit that. But, being a competent carbineer, I carry foods which really negate the the HAM costs. The biggest advantage I found to pistols was the melee damage penalty, or really, the lack of one. Carbines take 2x in melee and pistols 1.2x.In essence, this means you can survive in melee twice as long. With a pistol and my armor, I was actually able to tank things that as a carbineer I would burstrun from. However, this advantage is being lost in the next patch. The damage penalty is going out the window. Instead, a carbine user is easier to hit than a pistol user.

Were you using a CDEF pistol while trying out Pistoleer?
