Thread: I can't kill anything DEVs might see this

I can't kill anything - I chip away at my enemies bit by bit and watch my pets' health like a hawk. The fact that halfway through the fight I have to stop using specials cuz my Action is gone.

I'm 0/3/4/2 and think that this is an adequate amount of skills to have in a combat class to do more damage than this. I think I'm going to go up LLC.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, as all my fellow carbineers know our problems - but maybe the DEVs will see this and realize that even with the hi-level skills, we can't do much...

Bleh.

When I had BH carbine skills, I used a LLC to destroy lairs.

Well one MAJOR issue i see with your currant build is that you hve no speed mods. One of the best things about carbine is that it is 4 times as easy to climb our speed branch as the other elite ranged profs. On top of that to do damage you have to use your specials so eat food or get buffs and spam away.

what he said. you should not have skilled up the counterinsurgency line until last. you shouldve filled the assault line first as there is a +speed mod in each box and you wouldve also got scattershot2. after that, the marksman line for the accuracy mods which is almost as important as the speed mods. you wouldbe a mushroom cloud laying m*therf*cker unloadingthe lee van cleef (from the good the bad and the ugly) action allover those mobs' while your pet tanks for you had you skilled up like this..

but you didnt, so look at it this way instead: you got the crappy skills out of the way first.

some things that will help you:

  • keep a crate of tatooine sunburn and breath of heaven with you. personally i think its retarded that as carbineers we are have to do this and until i got master i rarely used food, instead i jacked my secondary stats high and my action pool high, got org chemistry IV and pharma to make my own stims and kept a close eye on my ham and used specials as needed --never spam them.

  • do not use burstshot2! use burstshot1 instead, it costs less ham and repeated tests have never shown that bs2 does the same damage for greater ham.

  • use legshot2 instead of legshot3--see above.

  • use chargeshot1. its low damage and relatively low ham but its a reliable knockdown that screws your enemy out of attacking as he picks himself up off the ground (ie he does less damage to you and/or your pet). spamming this with a very low ham, fast carbine like the dh17 snub after i use a good laser carb to get offactionshot1 (and 2 if i can do it without aggroing other mobs i that may aggro on me). this essentially keeps them on the ground while your 2x stacked bleeds and your pet go to work on it.

  • watch your bars and note which one you eat up fastest (usually action) and migrate your primary and secondary stats accordingy. this helps alot.

  • unless you plan to skill up to master, you may want to consider pistoleer as pistoleer mod placement on the skill tree make it more dabbler-friendly.

  • when shopping for carbines youll often see low ham versions and higher ham versions. the latter are for carbineer/doctors, carbineers with easy access to buffs or for specialty shots only (ie actionshot1/2 with high damage/high ham gun then swapping to lower ham gun); NOT for common or unbuffed use. nonetheless people buy these thinking "oooh uber damage" , slap on a bunch of armor, go hunting and 10min later they are asking for a rez. if ham is an issue and you find getting buffs to be a painuse low ham guns. it shouldnt be that way but currently it is.

good luck, youll need it.

Try getting doctors buffs/ eating food to increase your secondarys. HAM costs are a joke when you are buffed. Either that, or pick up novice medic and buy some really good stim B's. This would be a solution until the devs fix HAM(which they say they are with the publish after next).

People who grab LLC thinking they're gonna whoop ass have a big surprise.

LLC is a tool for certain situations and is not flexible enough to use in all - by any means.

A: 3x melee damage modifier by holding it.

B: Specials work within 16 meters only.

C: Slow refresh rate

D: +55 to accuracy and speed.

But give it a shot if you like. Best used in conjunction with BH carbine and pistol, knock something down switch to LLC and shoot it, then drop it like a hot knife if something with melee is nearby.

Also provides no passive defenses.

yah speed speed speed, im finding the Chargeshot 1, followed by Burstshot 1 is very damaging, dont forget to full auto single 2 for stun/blind, and bleed first, really imparing states to the mob i have 3/3/1/2 and im loving it, nov med is a must, buy a crate of stim B's that heal for atleast 330+ each heal, if you can go up the Firstaid line, those 330 heals turn into 1100 heals (800 average) at firstaid 4 dont give up

it really is worth it once you get a system down, keep trying
