Hello,
I just play with my brother, who is making a melee fighter so I always have a tank.I want to do a ranged prof and I was wondering what the pros and cons are about rifles vs carbines. I don't have a lot of post CU experience, but I rememeber that riflles used to be pretty strong but it was hard if your enemy got up close. I was a MC for awhile before the CU but the profession seemed unequal to other combat profs. Now it looks like a lot of carbineer issues were fixed and it seems like a fun class. What would you do in this situation?
- Thanks in advance.

Carbines
- Good Multi-target attacks (Full Auto Area)
- Good Single target snare (Crippling shot)
- Average Single Target Damage (Improved Leg Shot)
- Fighting range limited to 50m
- Drains Action fast.
Rifles
- Good Single target snare (knee cap shot)
- PowerfulSingle Target Damage (Improved Head Shot)
- Fighting range is wide open @ 64m
- Unique special to Cover from radar and attack with out being seen (cover and conceal shot)
- Sniper Shot is very powerful
- Drains Action fast!

I just take the best from both. I'm a Master Carbs and Master Smuggler with a DC-15 Clone Rifle. It's only cert is LvL 54 so i can use it and am really damaging with it and with the Carb and Smuggelr specials. God I hope they don't change that Rifle's Cert.

Just to let you know, a Laser Rifle (newly crafted) will have a higher DPS then the DC-15 Clone Rifle.
As for the Proton Carbine,, I agree, it rocks. But I went Master BH / Master Pistoleer / Rifle 0003 and now I have 525+ DPS with Pistols, Carbines, and Rifles. Effectiveness at all distances.
I am still betting that they will, sometime, add a MIN range to Carbines and Rifles.
