I tried the carbineer in a few combos.

First carbineer and MCH.I wanted to use my pets as tanks. Hm didnt worked when i attacked the enemy always ignored my pet and was after me. Thought its a CH bug i was long CH and know they bug the prof always. I dorped my CH to test another combo. This time carbineer/BH. Again the same i was in a group and when i started to attack the enemy was only after me. Ignored all other group members. I tried this with a few other carbineer combos and the same happend.

Now i droped carbineer and respeced to CM/BH and suddenly the agro is normal on all group members and not only on me.

Crowd control = get slaughtered from every enemy until your group members kill it??

I was in groups with better damage dealer as me, same attack speed and tankprofs but i was the only target the enemy attacked.

Anyone had the same problems as carbineerin a group?

Aggro depends on damage done and CL.....and who knows what other factors. It has also been noted that a Healer will draw the most aggro as well....major tweaking needed.

ah forgot the lvl. But i think it is not the problem i was under the lvl of my group members and had the same lvl. But the enemy attacked only me :/

And the damage didnt changed when i droped the carbineer onlywith BH i do the same damage.

Maybe its the speed of attacks but i dont know. :?

The agro needs really a change same with healing agro .

Thx for the fast answer.

I can pull aggro from my higher level group members no problem just by using legshot. If I use a cone shot even once, I'm certain to pull all the mobs on the tank for the duration of the fight. So, it seems like our specials draw aggro pretty well, and the cone shots draw it exceptionally well. If only I wanted that attention, I'd be all set.

I am pulling aggro with Leg Shot as well with my other group member same level, CL80. But the other person isn't doing as much damage, so I should get aggro....at least until they make Melee generate more Hate to properly tank.

For now I call myself the Ranged Tank

I find that aggro very annoying, unless you need to pull a mob from someone about to be slaughtered. I m forced to either set auto fire on the basic ranged attack, or not use auto but let mob go down to 50% life before i start using legshot or rapidfire, even using a cl30 carbine does same. And that is with cl80 full melee tanks/jedis needless to say i let fullautoarea for pvp only

They really should improve melee taunt , feeling like an EQ wizard, timing the nukes to avoid aggro

Weapon CL has nothing to do with it

I've spent my SWG career as either a carbiner and/or a Swordsman.

I agree with the above statment that Doc pulls too much aggro. My first template since CU was Swordsman/Doc and I would suggest that anyone picking up Doc also grab a melee. You'll need it.

Also, while playing with that template, I noticed I spent alot of time chasing after Carbineers who were drawing aggro. I'm hoping to play with this tonight and see what issues I come across. I respec'd to MC/ MSL but haven't been able to test it since I was out of town for mommy day.

*******Weapon CL has nothing to do with it ********

Not the cl itself, of course you silly but the average dps related to cl does involve in aggro when using specials

*E11mk2(cl54) 417 dps moded---> aggro guaranted since you immediatly outdamage your tank

To avoid having our tank ( he was tkm/sword ) running after mobs who kept aggroing me i bought an:

*Alliance needler(cl30 ? )277 dps moded ---> allowed tank to keep aggro a lil longer, but still 6/10 times the mobs got pissed off and came for me when trying to let just a couple of rapidfire

Yeah !
Thats what I loved at carbineer pre CU
Now if the DEVs would have fixed suppression fire and made it an area medium time +root+ or long time +snare+ and gave us a bit more stats/posture changes ( TA keep up the good work! )

Im patient, but till then Im no MCarb anymore =(
I currently dabble in three elite profession to play my old ranged tank and stat applying role
BH 0044: underhand, confusion, eye and torso shot
Carb 0400: crippling and eg shot
Pist 0403: disarming and stopping shot

But I will always use carbines ...

yeah, dont use cone attacks. Lol,you will get surrounded very very quickly unless theres better nukers in the party. Usually arent.. lol

"SWG? Multiplayer? oh yeah... If I had 1 penny for every time the phrase "solo group" was spoken in 1 single day of SWG I could retire. LOL. We'v got to face that this isent a multiplayer game, its a multiple person interaction simulation single player role playing game... So its a. MPISSPRPG. "-Me

Damage seemed to be the big factor tonight. I alternated between lower DPS and higher DPS, no cone attacks, and with my highest DPS carb I was pulling away aggro often. Low end carb I never once pulled agro.

I don't think Carb/Doc would be a great idea...

I've also noticed that I'm pulling most if not all aggro in the groups I've been hunting with. I still have faith that this system will be tweaked and most issues will be fixed. At least I hope so, hehe, but its' anyone's guess at this point.
