Thread: What carbine..
Have just started my path to master carbineer (0202) and am pretty muchstill a newbie to SWG. Iwas wondering which was the best weapon availible to us, I would think the elite but have also read here in places that its not very good, I cant say i understandwhat difference it makes if its energy or heat or whatever, do most creatures have higher energy resist than heat or any of the others?
Ihave access to be able to use any of them and they are all average crafts of each type (not sliced). So basically to all the experienced carbineer's which gun do you use and why?
do you carry one of each and swich depending on the mob?
always /examine what you're about to attack (untill you start to remember).
i use a laser, dh17, dxr6, ee3,nym's carbine, and a elite..... all depending on what i am shooting. Each gun bring to the table their own special abilities.
but my most used right now is the DH17... I am on my 3rd in about 2 months.

Depends on the target.
Acid vulnerable mobsuse the DXR6 or the nyms slug carbine.
Energy low resists no armor mobs DH-17, e-11 carbine,or the DH-17 snub.
Energy vulnerable light armor low resists/ no armor high resists the elite or the laser carbine.
Heat vulnerable and groups (remeber 3m radius) the ee3.
And my favorite category. OHMYGODWEDONTSTANDACHANCE. The laser carbine might be enough to see you through some sticky situations (medium armor piercing). Or it will at least hold them off till you get to your speeder.

If you have novice scout and at least Hunting 1 you will be able to see the various resistances and vulnerablities of mobs and npcs when you examine. once you are able to view a mobs resistances youll know which gun to use and which not to use
Nyms slug 31% damage slice, gooood acid and ap1, a bit high ham, but if they have low acid resists, good stuff.
Elite stocked. Pvp weapon or autoattack weapon. 191-297 damage, can get some crazy shots off, gotta have food, but thats never in short supply.
Being a bh i ahve an old school scater pistol krayt, and an llc. Workin on a good repub blaster, but dont need it really
I use an EE3 with like 192-290 damage range, with a speed of around 4.0. I find unless the enemy has a huge heat resist, or armor with heat resist. EE3 is the way to go.
I keep a spare laser carbine for enemies with high resist. I just find the laser carbine is a good balence with the risk I take using the EE3. Laser carbines are often relable and safe to use, just watch out for the minimum damage on all laser weapons. It can be quite low.
