Thread: Will HAM be an issue with the combat revamp?
dustin your felling to see one big thing befor i could spam specails then heal ham no ill spam specails and have low life that cant be heald i dont care how fast it regenerats becous healing is always faster now you spam down to 100 action and cant heal it what then some litel mob hits you right in the action and your gone
this actuly is going to hurt more then help from evrey way iv ben looking at it only ones who wont sufer is commando wich is not entierly true ithere commandos hw/gernades and acid rifle eat up the ham
For anybody whodidn't getthe sneak peak at the combat revamp on Test Center a while ago, it works like this. Reductions to HAM from specials and damage are handled seperately. Damage continues to regenerate at the old pace, while HAM costs from specials regenerate MUCH faster.
When these changes go live, I expect that the current HAM costswe suffer from won't be quite as much of an issueas they are now. Since we are definitely getting a boost to power in several areas, and how much one area (like speed, damage or HAM) is boosted must be balanced by how much another area is (i.e. bigger speed boost in exchange for lower damage boost), my question is this: In light of the upcoming changes to HAMregen for specials, do we still want to push for reduced HAM costs, or do we want to shift our focus towards other, more useful enhancements?
Personally, I feel our efforts should be split between pushing for greater speed and damage, using the higher HAM cost of our profession (which won't hurt as bad with the new HAM regen methods) as a counter-balance.
What do you guys think?
yes true but you cant walk around always bufed lets say your going to meet some one on tat you pull out your bik and start of then a mob spawns right infront of uses a poster down on you wich knocks you right off your bike and becous of the bug that makes you jumb back 300/500m now you have to fight mob you pul out wep pop BOH /ryshcat and you star to spam specials yes and even with both poped your down to about haf life in6sec wich you cant heal now you esly in rang for a one hit kill come on this is realy going to hurt not help ham cost still most be lowerd its hanisly way to high

I don't think the design of the game was to spam specials. They are "specials", something not "normal". I realized this while killing so many Tuskens at Fort Tusken. If you watch the combat window, you will see
"a Tusken Warlord shoots at you and hits for 237 points of damage"
"a Tusken Warlord shoots at you and hits for 183 points of damage"
"a Tusken Warlord shoots at you and hits for 201 points of damage"
Then, when you least expect it.....BOOM!
"a Tusken Warlord uses Advanced Strafe on you and hits for 1372 points of damage!" to finish you off.
The specials the tuskens use catch you completely off guard with no time to heal.
I really think the Devs want the specials we have to be special and not used for every shot. That is why they are making it where you can't heal the damage you take from specials. I also believe they want it harder to kill red cons. I remember reading, I think on a loadup screen, where it says that a red con will likely kill you. By readjusting the HAM systemmaking it unwise to use specials on every shot, a red con should likely kill you as was intended from the beginning.
