Thread: What specials do you use most?
Im a pretty new carbineer, and im wondering what folks use most. Ive read what the devs say on what works and what doesnt, but I want other player opinions..

If solo, I go prone and spam legshot2 for the first 4 free shots. When the mob charges I posture down with actionshot1, then stack actionshot2's bleed. Once the bleeds are applied I legshot until the mob begins charging again. At that time I fire a chargeshot to knock the mob over and legshot some more. By this time most things are dead. But if it isn't I warningshot kite and legshot the mob to save myself some skin and let the bleeds do their job.
When grouped and acting as fire support, I find most attacks hit the health, so I try to put my shots into that pool as well. Fullautosingle2 is the opener of choice to apply stun and blind. From there it's a toss up between burstshot, fullautoareas, chargeshots or legshots depending on the situation.
Cripplingshot does really nice damage (especially if applied to a knockdowned target). But unfortunately I don't have enough carbine speed to make up for it's long delay. As a result burstshot is a better choice for me.
heres what I use in PVP as a master carbineer...
Charge shot
Wild Shot (repeat if stun fails)
Scatter Blast (scatter2)
Repeat charge shot if the opponent has valid skills and stands

get the first box of counterinsurgency first for burstshot1. then race up marksman for cripplingshot. get chargeshot1 in the specials line as soon as you have enough combat xp.
i never bleed anyone in PvP, it's useless since they're all medics
/chargeshot1/fireknockdown/crippleshot is the best combo in the game in my opinion, but my 3rd holo said to go master combat medic so Im keeping master carb and going master CM. I think it will be very deadly, I miss medic anyway.

This is how I do it and I'm sure I'll get flamed about how this is all wrong (and that's good because I'm learning... so teach me ![]()
SOLO:
I start with my krayt laser in the prone at ideal range +5, with cripple shot;
then send in my pet to tank while I close the distance to about 30m;
then macro equip my Krayt DH17 and hit with chargshot;
then, burst2, fullautosingle2, burst2, fullautosingle;
then repeat chargeshot, burst, and fullauto untill desired effect.... (death), all the while healing my pet
I only macro-equip my 75% kinetic Ubese when other social creatures charge in at me instead of my tank. This is my formula for soloing picket plains walkers on dant and Sharnaff bulls on Corellia.
When fighting NPC's I send my dewback in to hit with its dizzy special on the highest level npc, while I hit with chargeshot. This usually takes care of him as once he's down my dewback doesn't let him up again. I then concentrate on the rest. This eliminates the boss from the fight all together.

always doctor/musician buffed(someday i gotta macro dancer on my musician), almost always solo, never use a pet...4/0/4/4 carbineer. Usually use a speed sliced/powered up laser carbine, i go through one ever 1-2 days. Now im wasting nym's on lantern birds because on my server endor has some really nice herbi meat lol.
