Carbineer Archive
Thread: Easist XP in the world, Master in a few days:
Ok, heres what you do: First, get a Good Laser Carbine and get it speed sliced, mines 2.4 40-275 (approx), then putpowerup on it (i prefer speed for specials, but whatever is your forte').
Go to a Player city on dantooine, ungroup, and unequip your weapons. Now, go to a mission terminal and look for "Savage Quenker" mission, they pay about 6800 creds per. The reason I say unequip and ungroup is that this way all of the missions will be at 250m-500m.
Now, heres the fun part. Group with a droid or mount or something for the xp bonus and bike out to the closest liar. Theres never more than 2 Savage Quenkers outside the lairs when you get there, so you don't have to worry about being ambushed.
Get 60m or so from one of the quenkers, fireChargeshot1, go prone, Burst or Cripple, ActionShot1, then use either Burstshot1 or Crippleshot for the next couple of seconds. Usually I only get to 1 or 2 extra shots till they die, and 98% of the time they don't even hit me. They go down in four shots and give 4k xp, plus 333 Scout xp per harvest.
Since they don't get close enough to hit you you don't need armor and therefore specials cost less.
IMO these are the best mob to level up carbineer in, buffed last night I went from Marksman II-IV in 2 hours, plus made 100k or so.
Good Hunting
.
dathomir, get a good group with a doc, go buffed up on the singing mountain, and kill spiders. made 300k polearms xp in 3 hours doing that with a group of 4 (no CHs)
i also made my last 30k combat xp for carbineer in 3 hours doing huurton hunters. Easy to kill when buffed.

savage quenkers have a ranged attack that's actually worse than their melee hit (babies do full adult damage w/ranged). but, it sounds like you're smoking them before they get many chances to attack...
Im a MBH dabbling in carbineer. made 400k in 2 hours at the tusken fort. Of course I was fully buffed and had armor and spices but each tusken gave at least 3k xp. and there are hundreds (and they spawn quickly) just dont go in prime time cause it gets crowded
Makk
Tusken Fort is in uber mode, beware.
If you get some Ubese thats good and buffs you should do fine though.
I was hunting Picket Plains Walkers (best thing I can spawn on my own on the mission terimals) yesterday and got some good XP, maybe 500k in three or four hours of the afternoon. Then, right before I was going to go to sleep last night, and was on my way back to the Imperial Outpost, I came along a Picket Longhorn Lair (it said 'Dead Log').
This is when mass XP started coming in. I was BH 0/4/0/0 so I have a great speed mod, and spammed FullAutoSingl1. There were about six or seven of them. Three aggroed me after I attacked the first, one was down before he moved, another was dead as he got to me, and the third was kill shortly after. Then I went after the other three-four and killed them. After that, before I even touched the lair, they started spawning again!! I got a huge ammount of kills from that one lair for 3600-4100xp each.
I was on a string of luck last night, and found ANOTHER Longhorn lair not 50m away from there. By the time I was done with that one, and some other regular Pickets close by, I had 530k xp in less then an hour and a half.
I had a great speed mod, so you'll probably want to get your Laser speed sliced, where I didn't need to. So, buff from Doctor, Musician, and Dancer, then get some vecupti and fishak and your set for 3 hours of getting xp. Have someone group with you so you get Longhorn missions and grind away.
Get a really fast carbine. mine is 76-348 1.7 speed, and use charge shot then criple shot twice then charge shot again and keep doing thaton anything that gives 4k xp by the time whatever your shooting gets up just charge shot again and it cant touch you.. you can solo rancors and other hard creatures this way

Any idea how the XP works? Right now I have novice pistoleer and novice carbineer(0044 in pistol, 0101 in carbine). I used to get 3.9-4.1k from pikets and plains walkers with a pistol. Now with carbine I get 3.5-3.6k from them. Is it because I am both novice pistoleer and novice carbineer?
Well, xp is always based on the damage dealt to a creature. The reason they did this of course is let's say your in a group. You wait till they almost killed a kimo or krayt or something. Once it's down to like 100 ham or so, you attack with burst shot for instance. Boom, you would get full xp. So xp is based on damage dealt (in my experiance with this game, stuff with about 3k-4k ham pools give mabye 2.5k xp or so.)
Also, even when you solo, xp will NOT always be full. When doing stuff solo, the games goes over to 'DPS'. Many of you veteran Diablo 2 players will know DPS. It stands for Damage Per Second. It's a figure calculated from two variables: Damage and Speed of your weapon (and skill mods of course). Unf, i haven't played D2 in a while and have forgotten the calculation for it, though even if i did it probably wouldn't work since they are two diffrent games :/ . But getting back to what i was saying...
When doing solo the game gives you xp based on your DPS. If you deal lots of damage in a certain time, you will get full xp. The fullest of xp is of course dropping a hm...let me think....bah, let's take a rancor for an example. If you manage to drop that suker in about 6 seconds, your gonna get alot of xp (Why? Cause your soloing it, so most xp goes to you anyway, and you dropped a freakin' RANCOR in just 6 sec's.)
That's kinda how it works. But always remember that looking at a weapon by it's damage isn't the best thing to do. compare damage with it's speed and play around with the wepaon a bit. You'll find out what the DPS is for it in no time.
