Can anyone tell me what adding stun to an opponent does, does it have any effect on anything?

I was told that it removes any special protection granted to the mob. So, from that I expect a 50% kinetic special protection is negated when you stun them. Although that is nice, it seem a little wishful thinking. Could someone please comment on this because I would also like to know for sure.

Stun drops the actions by 1/2 on the one aflicted. So if they were firing 1 time per second, they now fire 1 time every other second. Or so I was informed, and experieince seems to display this (when I was hit with it).

Man I hate stun. I really think it does what the previous poster said. It cuts the affected mobs attack time in half. I hate it because that's the state I'M most stuck with when I'm fighting things

I was told that it lowers defenses, like Ranged/Melee Defense and block/counter-attack/dodge. Maybe I should test this out...

That has a minor stun effect too.
