Can someone explain to me how the combat levels are going to work? As a Jedi I automatically get a pretty darn high level right? It's kind of a given that I'm in the top 10 percentile of levels, right...

What do combat levels matter if we are gettign screwed in the respec, we chould table every other issue until we are given an fair and equal respec. All professions must be given the same respec.

combat levels are based mainly on the number of elite profesions you have. You get levels for novice stuff, but not as much.

For instance. When I went from defender 1/1/2/1 to 2/1/2/1my CL increased by 4 from 40 to 44.

How people are getting shafted right now is that they want to keep their master TKA or master Swords in addition to jedi. When they do this. They get levels added for each boxin that elite professionon top of their jedi skills.

So they are classified as ajedi knight(level 80), yet they only have level 30 skills. And when you fight a level 80 crit and are only level 30. The result is a lot of complaining.

If you are a jedi, and want to effectively do combat without getting vis in groups (or using the ranged group method), you have to become a dabbler in other professions and increase your defenses.

so if im not confused now.......if I am novice CH and i get another skill box in there I will go up one level or a few? if I take a skill box in artisan will that give me an extra level ? I cant go up in levels in CH because for some reason my XP has stopped being accumulated at 20k no matter if I tame creatures attack with creatures I get no more xp. The next box (which is the first box) is 175k. so i cant see myself going up there. im so annoyed.

ok here is what i found out sofar:

4 4 + (1 novice)branches (ex ls x4x4 and def 44xx +novice healer) = lvl 79 --- no other profession skills (except fs which should not add to cl)

this means as jedi you get levels ALOT faster then normal

a basic normal profession 4 tier train (ex brawler 4xxx) gives +1 cl

at elite i got+1 lvl for each tier 1 &2 and+2 level for each tier 3&4

note:

i cant guarantee the numbers are exactly correct as i memerize them i aint good at that :-)

AND

it seems the CL is also used with .xx calculated as i sometimes got +2 where i should have gotten +1 from previous observations..

hope this helps a bit

sorry if not :-/

well that certainly helps. ill have to look into it. when i kill more things

just wish someone who actually designed this thing would put out a help guide about all the new things! but one can only hope for normality....now to see if the game is giving me any more CH xp stuck at 20k quite annoying

So now after the CU my carbines I always used (nym's and laser) have a combat lvl of 50. WHat exactly affects your combat level? I'm sitting at a 48 and and skill points happen to be real scarce currently. Does one lvl of a carbineer skill translate to 1 combat level or exactly how does it work?

Thanks in advance for any advice

I'm not 100% certain of how the numbers work but from what I've done. Novice level professions don't count for much, I believe filling 1 row will up your CL about 2 points. Elite level professions start at 1 or so point for the lower boxes and 2 CL for a top level box I believe.

I started out at CL 38 as a 4020 Commando 4000 Brawler Master Marksman Master Musciain Novice ID 4044 Ent.

I am now at CL 65 with Master Carbineer BH 1300 Master Scout 0044 Marksman 4210 Ranger.

So basicly the higher the box is up the more CL it'll get you. I believe Master boxes are worth quite a bit.

This has been asked a lot directly to the Devs....and they actually responded but not sure if it was in a public forum or not.

Basically the calculation for CL is too complicated for them to say what box where equals so many CL points.....mixing and matching and dabbling creates some boxes equal 1 CL for person A and equal 2 CL for person B. It is directly related to the amount of XP needed for a box, but multiple first tier Elite boxes can add up together, not just going up a tier.

Hope that helps, it is as clear as mud to me
