Okies, Just started SWG a few weeks ago and had my career path all chosen (M-Carbs + MBH for extra Carb effect), but now the CU has hit, I've noticed that the MBH and Carbineer basically share similar skills. Is it really worth going for both. I really want to keep my Carbs going, and am wondering if there any other options I can use to enhanceit.

I think they compliment eachother quite well.

BH gets you a better ability to tank with a little more damage while carbineer gets you damage and the ability to control mobs. Carbineer skills are also quite helpful when taking single creatures.

Only things I've had problems with as a Master Carbineer 1400 BM is fighting high CL npcs. If I were to Master BH I think I would do better with the high CL npcs.

Commando, Squad Leader, Master Marksman, Rifleman, and Pistoleer can all directly enhance your carbine skills.

Currently I'm Mcarbineer/MRifle/Mmarksman/Pistol 0003 (Will grind to 4403 or something like that) and I'm loving this template. The accuracy is sick (400 with crispic), the speed is decent (100 I think while holding carbine), and you get alot of specials. Stoppingshot, Crippleshot, Supression fire (when fixed), Startleshot, and that one rifle snare all are useful (enough to pretty much keep them slow/stopped 100% if you can handle the action drain.) The downside is that you don't quite get as much defense as you do from BH and not getting as many states as you can from BH.

So Suppression Fire is broken... I was wondering why it wasn't doing anything

While on the carb specials, I use Charge Shot whenever something feels compelled to charge at me. After it's dropped, and I'm having some bother trying to exterminate it's worthless hide, I use it again, only 90% of the time it fails to get 'em down. Is there a timer, or do they get some kinda of resist to my second shot?

I've only tried this Tactic in PvE. I've also tried Charged Shot, then the 'Hunters Underhand Shot with similar results.

There is a KD Immunity Timer, used to be 30 seconds pre-CU but haven't tested it post-CU yet.

Seems like the knockdown timer is still there. Once you land a knockdown on a mob you will see an animation of rings or bubbles around the mob that lasts about 30 seconds. During that time subsequent attempts at knocking down seem to always fail.

That explains it then. I thought the swirlies were related to the leg shot I usually place on 'em once they get back up.

*doh*

Although to tell the truth, I don't usually look at the mob I'm gunning up as I'm too busy watching my HAM and cool-downs tick over. I really wish they put a graphic cool-down in the middle of the screen (or on the mob) instead of having to icon-stare through Combat *hint hint*

Thanks for the help guys
