Thread: What goes with Carbineer?

Hello there. I'm currently Smuggler/Commando, but i'm finding that leaves something to be desired. It's got some nice looking weapons, the ability to slice, etc; but it seems more of a PvP profession (smuggler that is), and Commando just seems a waste.

So I was thinking of going Carbines, even if just to put my shiny new Clone Armour into good use ( ).

I'm not struck on Bounty Hunter, I've never really been interested in hunting down Jedi just to be spanked by a Master Defender or whatever the current FOTM is.

Are there any good combos out there? Carbines/Rifles for a mix of ranges and weapons? Carbines/Pistols for the stopping shot, etc? Carbines/Smuggler for the 'crowd control' moves such as Concussion shot? Maybe even Carbines/Doctor, has anyone got any experience with that?

Any and all input welcome, I'm really at a dead end trying to pick professions I'd enjoy. I tried commando/carbines before, but found I was using my carbines more than the heavy weapons (They look nice, but they're not really practical.)

Been playing with Carbines/Smuggler/Pistol 0044 today.

Quite nice, The KD, Root and snare combo works well on alot of mobs, and last ditch is very handy for last minute emergencies.

I'm going MBH/Master carbs/pistoleer 0044 tomorrow to see what that's like. Mainly so i can used the proton carbine, but also for the Defences.

Should be interesting to compare the 2 temps.

Either way i'm staying carbs/something, its alot of funn and the weapons look cool.

Before the CU I was MC / BH 0-4-4-0 / Pistoleer 0-0-4-3 and it owned, all. After the CU I didn't even have to mix it up much. Currently I'm MC / BH 0-4-4-3 / Pistol 0-0-3-3 / MMarksman....the accuracy bonus, the abundance of great specials (root, snare, KD, every state effect imaginable)....it's a great all around mix. Awesome in PvP and awesome in PvE; finally, now that our specials actually affect mobs and our guns can damage them. I give the CU two 's!

Im a Master Carbines/Master BH/Pistoleer 0/0/0/3 / Scout 4/0/4/0

Im not using BH as a hunting class, I could careless about killing Jedi sinceLow Level Padis are all you can solo,as much as I am using it for the attacks, defense, and the gross amount of xp you can save up. Cap on Carbines is 1.2Mil Pistol, Rifle, and LLC(Heavy Weapons) is 900k with a 680k cap on combat xp. Makes for a hell of alot of xp to turn in and alot less trips out to the village.

Scout I got cuz i hate slow running and do alot of creature harvesting now that its easy to got a crap load of meat, bone, hide, etc..

I took up Pistoleer 0/0/0/3 for the simple fact that I can solo CL 80 Mobs by applying this set of attacks. Start off with any shot to draw a mob. Then as he gets close drop him with Underhand Shot, Hit him with Advanced Critical, then hit him with stopping shot, pound on him some more until that pops the use Cripiling shot on him and run away and pound him to death from a distance.

Though its a bit slow it works when you just cant get a group and you can bust out great weapons like Featherweight FWG5 and Advanced Laser Rifles and use them like a champ. Plus you can wear Battle (That Lovely Clone Armor) and Assaultarmor with no penalties. JustMHO.

I'mworking towardsMaster Marksman / Master Carbineer (almost there) / Master Rifleman.

Long range hitting power via Rifles and it's skills. Stealth to be included once Cover & Sniping Shot work. Specializing in single target engagement at the long ranges of 50-65m.

From 50m and under, Carbineer comes into play if you stick with carbines, but the specials are useful with Rifles. Carbineer has the capability to hinder/halt enemy movement, whether it be a single target or a group.

Riflemen has excellent specials for single targets. Carbineer gives the specials for engaging many targets. It's quite fun so far even though that the Carbineer portion of my template isn't complete yet (2443).
