Thread: Elite carbine... useful?
To set definitions straight, the carbine is the starwars equivalent to the modern-day machine gun. Burst fire or rapid fire weapon meant to do maximum damage in minimum time at medium range.
So why is it the DH17 Snub or the E11 so much far and above better than the elite carbine? The only weapon unique to the carbineer class is the elite, and yet we are coerced into using these nooB weapons because quite frankly they work better and cost FAR less!
I would expect the weapon supposed to be chosen only by the elite of the elite would be appropriately powerful. The Elete Carbine is neither elete nor powerful. Maximum and minimum damage delta is HUGE, maximum damage overall is mediocre at best, and the speed is downright slow! As the name implies, the weapon is downright ugly, so it doesn't even make a good mantle piece!
I realise there needs to be a difference between carbines made using bad materials and carbines made by using good materials, however the weapon can only be made by a MASTER WEAPONSMITH, so there is no skill difference in the manufacture... even the poorly made ones should be better than the other weapons in this skill line (oh I dunno something about being made of certain extremely rare-spawn materials... heck on Bria we didn't even HAVE elite carbines until about two weeks ago because the resource hadn't spawned anywhere in the whole GALAXY). I won't even go into the HAM costs.
Please guys, fix this.

i think carbines are more like assault rifles, and machine guns are typically heavier weapons that are used for support fire, i think these would be more like commando weapons, but commandos dont really get any really machine gun like weapons.
a snub DH17 is more like a submachine gun like an MP5PDW
carbines should:
have pretty good accuracy
have a nice rate of fire
be reasonably powerful
