Thread: Post-patch. Any1 notice that first shots seem to miss more often?

I fire first and the first thing I see float from the target is '-missed' and this happens like 60-70% of the time. And tat's at ideal range too. Any1 noticed?

Yeah, same here. I'm missing considerably more than I had been. Firing from the kneeling position is my normal stance and I've seen a noticable decrease in my accuracy. And that's with 3 blocks of the accuracy tree in carbineer.

my laser hardly ever hits on the first try. However, my cheap guns tend to do much better. Nothing like an sneakless sneak attack to get a battle off to a good start

... yeah, you betcha. The only way for a critter to stay at ideal range for that long is if they were lying down. (which would also make you miss more) And if a creature is running at you, you are more likely to miss since they are moving. And I haven't seen a Carbine yet with a good point blank modifier. Anyway, it's getting slightlybetter but it's still missing a lot. Got carbine4 eventually but that miss rate is ridiculous. The only way to get up in carbine now in the marksman profession is to just wear armor and do regular attacks.

They introduced movement penalties in this patch. The game thinks you are still moving for a few seconds after your movement animation stops on your screen. So, stop, wait 2 seconds or so, and THEN fire. I know the game thinks you are still moving because I always get "You cannot do that while running" when I try to play my instrument right after I stop moving.

The movement penalitesare FAR too great ... the fact that I can have a +40 to-hit [ideal range] and miss a creature while *I* am kneeling ... and mind you a have +30 to-hit bonus against creatures using normal shot because I am a Master Ranger.


Additionally, I missing 90% of my shots at point-blank with my laser carbine. Didn't they remove the point-blank penalty for carbine like a month ago?!

I don't remember anything about a point-blank penality being removed.. Pretty sure thats what melees are for.


Yes I've seen alot more misses now than before.

I miss at least 30% of the time. I am a CH so I can send my tank in and then get to a good distance (usually 30m) and kneel. I will miss with a +17 accuracy 30% of the time.

yep i have. thought it was cos i dropped ranged support 1-4
