Thread: Maxed out speed modifier?
Is there any sense to having a speed modifier over +75 for a carbine user?
From what I understand of how the speed modifyer works it seems like there is no point to having over +75 to carbine speed. My calculation is this:
Speed of fire = delay on weapon x (1-(speed modifyer/100))
This would cause a carbine with a 4.0 speed and a modifier of +75 to have a speed reduction of 75%. This effectively makes the speed 1.0 (the max on any weapon)
Now this calculation is for the default attack. It does not take specials into account. However, if you have a speed modifyer over +75, say +100, do you fire specials faster?
Those of you with Master Carbineer, can you fire a cripiling shot as fast as a Carbineer/BH Carbinecharacter?
Yes the specials need to be taken into account with the calculations. They'll still fire slower than 1.0 with a 4.0 speed weapon at +75 speed mod.
So, to answer those.. Yeah, getting over that will make you fire faster with specials, (the point where it actually caps out with specials is a bit harder to determine since the exact modifiers for specials aren't documented accurately anywhere that I know of) and no, a master carbineer wont fire crippling shots as fast as a BH/carbineer.
