Just wondering ppl's opinion. will carbines ever be good? plz post your opinions weather good or bad ...

I have played nearly every prof in the game, and I think it is the best fit for my play style.....is it UBER and PWN ever critter, NPC and PC out there, of course not but that is not why I play SWG.
I will be totally honest, I am not pushing SOE in the CU to make us a FotM prof.....of course it could still happen but I am just pushing for all profs to be valuable without one or two clearly dominating.

i do a lot of solo hunting and pvp.. well most of the time i am running from mobs of rebs when i solo pvp... anyways do you think it is a good solo pro or just for group support?

It is pretty tough solo.....
For PvE I only survive thanks to CH.....and PvP I survive thanks to Fencer......
A serious combat toon uses 250 Skill Points for combat, so it is a matter of finding the right mix for your play style.

Personally I think it's kick-ass for pretty much everything, but I am jaded when it comes to the template and weapons I use, heh. 
The only downside to solo PvP would be the large gank squads that include Jedi, but hey, there's no avoiding those. Otherwise, I find that a Carbineer/Fencer/Pistoleer build competes with any template out there, so it works. But who wants to solo PvP anyway? Group with melee/Doc or a few other friends and you'll be rocking the PvP wonderland.
As far as PvE goes, a good ADK'd Krayt Laser is nearly as good as a T21 on either Krayts/Elders and I frequently surpass the damage output of a Swordsmanor Rifleman, so it's quite doable, albeit perhaps a bit costly and difficult.

cool deal. i guess if you developed a good template. the carbineer is good for putting states on groups. i have heard it called the riot control profession. tho i have not seen it used much. thank you all for your info...
