Thread: Just duelled in Coronet

Hey

Yesterday evening I was bored so I thought I might as well try out my duel capabilities vs. the regular PvP players. So, as I stood there in Coronet, spamming "Anyone wanna duel?!?!" or something like that, I was practically Kd'ed with /tells from a variety of most professions... and I can honestly say that I fought most of them - surprisingly, without losing a single battle and getting outstanding results.

How come we are such a misunderstood profession? I should think, if people knew the "truth", there'd be more of us than riflemen!

You need to keep in mind, that you are a MBH / M Carbineer... that's something completely different than a simple master carbineer. A simple master carbineer shoots about four times slower (ie deals 4 times less damage), has a way lower accuracy (70 less than you) and doesn't get the most powerful carbine specials in duels you have... such as confusionshot and sprayshot *drool*.

I'm not saying carbineer sucks or something... but i think some of you bounty hunters get a wrong picture of it, since you don't get to know the biggest disadvantages of carbineer (for example speed).
I have played carbineer without any other combat profession and carbineer with bounty hunter... seriously, with bounty hunter i was like 6 times more effective...

Did you check the FAQ at the top of this board? You'll find lots of great info there, including the strengths/weaknesses of the profession and pvp tactics.

Carbineer is simply a prof that requires TACTICS and MIND to win instead of button smashing like all the FotM's.....if that fits your play style then you will love Carbineer, but if you want to be uber with no thinking, then you will hate Carbineeer.

^^on the money^^

I have paired MBH and BH0440 with all different sorts of pistol and carbine combo's. If they player knows what they are doing IMO the carbineer is going to have the upper hand.

I'm caped on speed for both carb and pistols. Carb acc is 220ish with my AA/CA. Cripple shot has an awsome dmg multi. AE dizzy, states, posture changes, and KD when needed. Concentrated single target KD, dizzy, states, posture changes. Some nice DoT carbs are floating around out there. Toss in some pistoleer defenses, geo cert, and a couple of specials like fanshot and stoping. IMO my favorite ranged template to date is Mcarb/BH0440/Pistoleer3043/FS skills for more acc or defenses.

I know with that set up I have managed a few surprise kills on others, including some stackers.

I've killed multiple def stackers, then again being MBH/M Carb/+25 Acc clothes and FS helps out, just a lil Use good foods and carbine accuracy stims, and you're set. Also helps being group with MSL.

LOL yeah, I'd imagine it would, heh. A BH/Carbineer's only weakness are his/her defenses, namely their probability of being flat on their back dizzied and being pounded on.

Of course, Squad Leaders prevent that.

carbineer is all about the tactics...and having the right equipment...nothing beats a mastercarbineer / BH carbines or MBHwith an uber 600 max dmg laser....carbineer is a proff in which you can be in almost complete control of your opponent with states, KDs, and posture downs....once you get your tactics right...you're one of the most deadly forces one could come up against...

Defense-stacked DoTTer.Profession doesn't matter. It cankill a BH/Carbineer template in seconds.. because the BH/Carbineer has mediocre healing abilities, if at all. Oh, and Jedi.

Considering there so many DoTs out there, BH/Carbineer is far from being invincible, but it is pretty darn good.

That's damn near my template too. I'm MCarb/BH0440/Pistol4043 and I do much better than when I was just MCarb. I used to be a MCarb/MRanger and couldn't do jack. I'm thinking of trading the pistol dodge line in for the BH investigation line as I rarely use pistols in PvP, except maybe to eye shot someone that continually heals themselves from my crippleshots. So true about the tactics too. I almost always out think my opponent and use the right specials at the right time. Carbs have specials for every occasion if you use them right. And if you start your attack right, it doesn't take too long to end it so low defenses or lack of medic doesn't usually come into play.

I was just saying...bh carbineer is an extremely deadly force...when not approached in the proper manner...bh carbineers can dispatch of you extremely quickly....as long as it doesnt throw poison...DOT whore...or stack tons of defense a BH carbineer can effortlessly destroy it
