something occured to me today that may have occured to all of you much sooner but...

EVERY combat profession gets a new move in the master box -- EXCEPT carbineer. carbineer is the ONLY combat class to get NOTHING in the master box (aside from passive bonuses which they all also get).

in addition, carbineer is the ONLY combat class whose unique weapon cert is 100% useless and has nothing different about it whatsoever to make it EVER useful in ANY situation above the non-carbine only weapons. it's energy damage (same as most the other carbines) it's AP1 (worse than laser carbine AP2) and its DPS from damage/speed is inferior. there is absolutely NO situation against ANY enemy where elite carbine would be the best choice of weapon for carbineer.

pistoleer: dx2 pistol (not stellar but different damage type and good dmg/ap, useful)

bounty hunter: scatter pistol (great) LLC (great)

rifleman: T21 (awesome)

pikeman: vibro lance (it's electric damage so occasionally useful, ALTHOUGH the long vibro axe I believe was intended to be the pikeman cert and may be reverted to that -- and the LVA is the bread and butter of pikeman)

TKA: vibro knuckler (great)

fencer: stun baton (stun damage so useful in some situations)

h. swordsman: power hammer (amazing damage + blast)

commando: flame thrower + more

ham issues and non functioning specials aside, what up with dat?

Yeah its been long recognized that we lack anything at master of real significance except some mods. I wouldnt say everyones elite cert is good though, pistoleers would argue that the DX2 is crap, and stun batons are the most pathetic weapons in the game. Most weaponsmiths wont even make them.

So while I agree on the first part, our elite carbine doesnt stand out as being exceptionally crappy - quite a few professions elite cert weapons blow chunks.

The elite is not 100% useless, although its not as good as it should be. Personally my elite is my best PvP gun - it has the highest min damage and a good max damage, making it the most reliable.

Thge elite is far from useless. It looks oh so cool with a scope on it best weapon to carry around town while covert

BTW as a weaponsmith i can tell you that the new versoin scatters(post nerf) suck hard

Dude, what are you smokin'? Read the fencer boards, it rocks in PvP and vs. a LOT of mobs.
