Thread: interesting observations on TC

so i took some missions with spineflap hives (spawns anything from gatherers to queens). i don't have much of a strategy, i usually use fullautosingle2 or legshot2, and on bigger mobs i add an actionshot2 to start. i generally did ok (had to heal myself a few times, but that's probably equivalent to a doc buff or a few food items), and i got incapped a few times.

here comes the good part: my timer started out at 91s. as i regen, the counter made leaps of almost 30 seconds, from decrease in the special modifier. i was able to stand up again in less than 10s, heal up, then shoot again. therefore if you got incap because you used a lot of specials, you can get up quickly. otherwise, the incap timer remains the same.

i did get a hold of Stavos (ex-master carbineer on TC, but also master doc), and he said the new system is "not really a big help, but then i can't test it fully. but imho it's worse, at least for somebody who can heal. imho the regen is slower then stim usage, but then it's free... but then i'm master doc, so buffs mean a lot and stims are very effective on me. it may be a whole lot different for somebody with 0 or just novice med stim B user."

i can't say much about the actual system itself... i'm too used to my healing routine, and didn't make a good observation. if someone wants something specific tested, please contact me either here or on TC... i'll be onlinemost of theweekend.

I suppose it helps a little, but I would just rather not have to be incapped in the first place. Seems like a rather complex solution, why don't they just LOWER HAM COSTS?????

well i don't think it was meant to be a solution, just a positive side effect... now we can wear armor and use our specials.they still haven't fixed our ham cost

Doh! I misunderstood the situation when I read the your post. I thought that the new change only affected you by decreasing incap time; apparently there's more to it than that! Maybe I should read patch notes before I open my fat mouth next time.

This new system sounds pretty good, but it will probably need some tweaking. Its certainly better than nothing, though.

the system is certainly interesting... since i'm also a medic, i'm not exactly happy on my carbineer. i'm taking a bit to adjust, but i'm sure i'll be fine.

however, on my brawler i can now use armor *and* spam specials without killing myself. *that*'s a good thing. i'm not sure if the base number regen is affected by your substats at all, but even with armor on i regen pretty quickly. i guess it's time to get my carbineer some armor

Now we just need continuity-related armor instead of a collection of worthwhile options cobbled together from what we see individual bounty hunters wearing. Like factional crafted armor.

Rebel trooper armor, crafted. Stormtrooper armor, crafted. Stormtrooper scout armor, crafted...
