I see that the developers are working hard to try to get new plots and twists out to keep the game fun and exciting but why not fix what is broken. i was looking forward to moving up the carbineer tree but only to find out that half the specials dont work. overcharge shot 2 broke. Dizzy Broken. other things are redundant. Pistoleer is the same thing. pistol whip 2 is broken. i dont understand why not stick to the basics and get them under control before youtry to advance things. I like to think of it as the "A to Z" complex. to get from a to z you must go through b,c,d,e,f,etc, etc. it seems like SWG goal is to get to z by going A to L to Q to Z. and things are halfway done. My suggestion. Complete something 100% then move onto the next task. I dont know jack about what it takes to right a program or develope anything like this but what i do know is that you should d more than you can handle. If you cant get overcharge 2 to work or the Dizzy to stick then how do you ecpect to make this crackdown go flawless/the decay to work/i can only image the cluster when the space expansion comes out. i think i might skip that all together. Dev's...do the right thing and fiz what is wrong first then start another project. Please

This theory you have is one of the first software development concepts around. It's called the 'Waterfall' concept, in which you basically do what you said: work on a piece until it's finished and move on to the next piece. This is quickly being replaced by something else called 'Iterative' development, in which the programming team defines a smaller chunk of the project, thinks about it and defines it rigorously, and then programs that chuck. Afterwhich there is a number of variable tests done statistacally dealing with it's interfacing and functionality. Then on to the next chunk. A proper subset (group containing some but not all) of all of these 'chunks' can be defined as an iteration. After each of these iterations the whole group of chunks is tested against each. As strange as it seems, breaking development into small chunks has consistantly lower total development time and lower development budjets. IBM was a pioneer.

What this means is that: How do you design carbineer defense before you design pistoleer offense or TKA posture changes or the guns' ranges. All the development does not go on at the same time and thus wierd gaps will occur as the developers are only human.

In describing your 'A-Z' method or 'Waterfall' methodof development with respect to the total difficulty of development one man said: "For every difficult problem there is an equally simple and inadaquate solution".

Just a thought about development

Haha, what wonderful nonsense! (The Waterfall theory)

I appreciate the fact that you're defending the devs - they've done a great job on this game- but please, less of the imaginative rubbish.

I'm really not knocking the game in any way. They've created something quite incredible here and

That's some arrogant attitude you got yourself. 99.9% do not play the game to marvel at the elegant game design. We are consumers. I can feel/show understanding for the devs and I realize that I have no idea about how complicated their work is. But if my car stops in the middle of the desert I don't stand there marvelling at how almost perfect BMWs new electronic motors are, I swear some and tries to get a lift to the nearest place to call the responsible persons and demand some service.

I mostly try to not compare professions too much, or cry for nerf etc. I'm trying to focus on all the positive and beautiful things in the game. I know that a mmorpg can quickly be reduced to nothing if you don't focus on what you like, and add your own content to it.

But sometimes that doesn't work, some things appears too unfair to you. I think that this "fix" certainly qualifies for that.

lol i like that BMW analogy. I think that they have done a great job but i dont know jack about what it takes to make a game as well as a BMW i just know the developes tookon this job and task as well as SOE and charge people a ton of money to play.
$79.00 for a pair of goggles AKA special edition
$75.00 video card upgrade
$120.00 Ram Upgrade
$14.99 a month
And my system is cheap. My concern is the complaints i read on the forums are complaints they had in Beta and that bothers me. its the little things that bother me. the skills that dont work. how hard is that to accomplish. they can make it say +dizzy when i hit the target and right afterword it say -dizzy. if they would just be more aggressive on fixing the things before moving on i would be happy. as would many other people. everyone is mad at the responses you get or lack there of. I went to college for computer programming and dropped it cause of the time and attention to detail it take. i now however dont work in the computer industry and also dont make 90k a year. i am not sure what the dev's make but i do know that after the attacks and the tec. industry dropped i had people who were making 90k+ applying for server postions. so i can only speculate they make way more than me AS THEY SHOULD. However things need to be right.
