Thread: Devs Hotfix needed

You havehad 7 months. I dont care that you nerfed charge shot. It was handy yes but over rated. The fact that you opened up that code and did nothing but ruin us even more is frankly insulting. You spent 2 weaks HOT FIXING the stats on the T21. At the time half the servers dident even have the resorces to make it. We are down to 1 special that is bug free. Cripple shot. And its so slow its useless. Wen you level carbineer you dont go for the new specials you go for the stat boosts. And those are almost non existant. Its sad that as a master i use full auto single 2 95% of the time, and that i got it in novice, and that its also broke.


I am not saying that the fixes you have made are not needed or even good. Cheffs are realy cool now. But we have absolutly Nothing going for us. And all we have gotten from you in the 7 months the game has ben out is our name fixed and broken more. I could sit here and list 100 fixes you have made that dont effect one tenth the player base as there are carbineers. Or things you have added that are "cute" and nothing more...Its nice to color my swoop, makes it easyer to find wen im running my Le'ku off to get away but will a blue swoop keep me paying you? No. The worst part is i know enough about programming to know that fixing our status effects speed and def would not take an entire team to do. Probably no more than one guy a few hours or even 2 days tops if he is not familiar with that part of the code.


I know the publish 7 will take at least 2 months...It will take you a weak or three just to fix the bugs in this last patch. That is to late for this profession. There is already a nice long post about people saying they are droping it or quitting etc. Dont blame em at all. If you cant pay attention to your players other than the nerfers whining you need to re evaluate your staff/management.


We submitted 10 questions. I have seen a responce to i think 3 professions. And in there you gave almost no information. I dont want to hear "were looking into it". If you dont already know what is wrong this game is hopeless.

I dont see why this post would be banned or locked. Im not insulting the devs. I am extreamly dissapointed in them. Im not threatning to quit the game. My logic is telling me to walk away. If it was not for the extreamly cool people in my guild...Some of the best people i have gamed with in my 15 years online gaming (anyone remember MUDD"s?).


I fail to see the logic in how they decide to fix things. Its like they put all the issues they feal like fixing some time soon in a big hat and draw a few out. The next publish is the combat revamp. PLEASE DEVS. It will take a wile for you to get that finished, its a lot of work no doubt. Hot fix some of the major problems with some of the professions within a weak. It would restore sooo much faith your coustomers have in you. Not just carbineers....There are a lot of major simple problems with a lot of professions out there now. Fix some easy stuff to make these classes barable till the big push.

It doesn't matter what the devs eventually fix. They would have to fire every single person currently part of the development team for me to remove the label of incompetent from them. I mean putting a knockdown timer on a special that doesn't even knockdown is just nuts.

Exactly how incompetent do you have to be to do that?

I have no respect left at all for them.

I agree gundam, I have my credit card on standby wating for my classes to get fixed to buy an alt. Cant justify more money on this game till it works. Id say a good 35 members of my guild feal the same way. Hate to say it but with this last display of niglect it looks like i am closer to saving more money than spending more. This game will some day be realy cool but this irratic progress is not only confusing but down right agrovating.

I think we will see Publish 7 rolling out onto the test center in the next week or 2. While we may not get hotfixed, its not going to be months before the next publish.


Good stuff is coming. I think we will see good stuff happening to our class for the next few publishes. The focus appears to be shifting to combat and combat classes now. If you like what they did to Chefs, that is what they envision for every profession. I think it is a pretty exciting time to be a Carbineer. *WE* are going to get to help move the class to become what it should.


I don't disagree we are hurting but if you can ride it out for a few more weeks I think we will finally get our moment in the sun.

Nova i /bow to your optimisum. You are a great person to represent our or any profession. I know this because if i were in your shoes i would have quit heh. But the problem is what can we do now in game? Not much. I dident even use charge shot to much. Maby 1 or 2 times in a pvp battle unless i was fighting a tk...then id use it a bit more. And in pvm i only used charge wen i needed to keep a baddie off my team mate for a sec wile he got away and the pets could get in....It actualy let me be a support char. Now that im master carbineer and master doc i use to enjoy going on group hunts and just playing support to my guild mates. Healing and buffing and curing and keeping the nasties off our ranged mates wile the mele's and pets could get in. Now all i can do is wate till they incap to drag them away or spam stims on em and hope the mind holds out. My Master carbineer skills add Nothing to the group dynamic other than a boost to our damage and the missions we can take. I just want to be usefull with the 92 points i have spent on these skills. Is that to much to ask for a game that has ben out for 7 months?

I am having trouble replicating any bug with /chargeshot1. Whenever I use it, it works for the 5 seconds.


Can you tell me exactly which creatures or NPCs are not staying down?

This is what i was saying in my post to u Marine. I was saying that theyve essentially put a KD timer on a move that is not a KD. I was a little surprised to hear in your response that it was, infact, a KD, and all they had done was fix the animation. As far as the original post, I agree whole heartedly, although I am willing to wait till publish 7 if it is, in fact only a month or less away. I would like to know what your basis is tho, for such an optimistic opinion on the time until the next patch.

I will admit that i have not done any stop watch testing. I will do it today however wen i get a chance to get in game.



Also, Now that our charge shot (wen compleatly working correctly wich is in dispute) is on longer anything special at all. Nova can you please have the devs remove our additional penalties for this shot? Why are we the only class that wen using our kd move have to not only be standing but forced to run causing us to be moving and reducing our chance to hit even more?

Hey nova, any news on the dev forums about at least finishing fixing charg 2? Or the timmer on charge 1 wich is not 5 seconds in pvp or mobs. The only thing that seems to stay down are npc's.


Have they made any comment at all as to how they are going to make this insult up to us? They neglected us thrue out the entire launch of this game. Only things they have done other than change the spelling is to makes us less and less effective. Do we ever get a bone? All we have are damage shots that hit any pool and we do them slow and inacurate compaired to all other ranged professions. We have no def crappy weapons and our only kd is gimped to force us to stand and run wen we do it with a messed up /stand timmer. Our only dotworkingright is in marksman and is so low that with the new nerf on dots its a compleat joke.
