Back in the day... Teras Kasi artists had but one good special-- Knockdown1. TK's could spam this at will and get by on the rest of their broken skills. The general SWG community complained that TK's were PvE gods (totally untrue) and prevented people from having any fun in PvP (partially true) due to being knocked down over and over till dead. The Devs stepped in and instated a timer as well as resistances (for Mobs) to the knockdowns; and the TK's were furious.

A month of whining took place before people started posting constructive information on how they thought the profession should be fixed. Again, the Devs listened... and a few patches later the majority of the TK's abilities were fixed and enhanced. I know this is fact because I leveled from unarmed3 to master during the gimped phase and was quite active on the boards.

It seems that the carb profession is following in the TK's footsteps. The best thing we can do as a community is to reduce the number of unconstructive posts so it will be easier for the correspondant and Devs (should they venture here) to find solid information they can use to fix us. Everyone has the right to be angry with the way this is being done... but several posts about how screwed we got in publish 6 is only going to slow the process of fixing us down.

Flame me...

One star me if you must...

But please try to minimize the whining... it just makes things worse!

Well spoken, though it might be satisfying to rant about how the Devs let us down and how they clearly must hate Carbineers it does little towards actually helping us get what we want.

Constructive suggestions and level heads are what makes winners.

I agree mate.

That's why I don't get why so many people sare saying "The devs are not listening to their player base"!

My question for these people is: "What if people have diffrent opinions? Who is suposed to be right and wrong!"

I think the newest hot topic, with For or against perma jedi death just makes that clear. On the one side we have people, who are happy with the perma death being removed so they can play, and on the other people are furious!:/

.... Well... Nice post mate! 5 Stars

Um Tka was not hit that hard with the knockdown timer. Pikemen where the ones that took the worst of the timer. And they were very polite and didnt scream on boards, they just made suggestions on how it could be fixed. 6 months later all they have gotten is +10 accuracy on a couple weapons.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm just starting out leveling up Carbineer and figure that by time I get there this will be the hot combat profession.

Commando and Rifleman are good examples of broken professions that got all their love at once. Carbineers have to be close in line.

Adding the knockdown timer iskinda like in Fight Club when he pours the chemicals on his hand to make one step closer to rock bottom. "Only when you've hit rock bottom will you truly be free." Maybe that's what they're going for.

1) Hasn't the 30 sec knockdown been inaffect a long time?

2) Hasn't our correspondent told them about the status of the profession? AND the DEV didn't even know CS2 was broke!! (nothing against novamarine it just appears that whinners get a better response than our representative, that or our dev has no idea what is going on or just dosen't care)

3) Whinning got CS1 changed, complaintsin forums, bug, and CSR

I appreciate the tone of your post, and the hope you still have, but wasn't it the entire point of appointing correspondents andrequesting "Top 5/ Top 10 Issues" lists to get that constructive information? If the devs are confused because the Carbineer forum is too muddled, then I guess I don't understand why they bother to have correspondents and lists in the first place. Honestly, if they still don't have a clear idea of our problems and the fixes we need, I don't know how much more we can help them out.

it would be nice to think that they're clearing out the weak and rewarding the stalwart with the reward of a better carbineer...but this is a game, it should be fun, not a chore. if i want to work hard for something, ill do it in real life where the rewards are tangible.

I agree as well, but im a bit worried, since carbineer has been waitin a while for fixes, while TK's were a bit higher on the priority list it seemed. I agree that they will fix things in our beloved profession, im just concerned about the time factor.

Right now one of my things i like to do in game is do search feature for master carbineers. So far ive found 3 in my server besides me lol.

They'd probably have broken the other 30% (actually we are closer to about 10% working) first because they thought they fixed us (like how they fixed CS2) and then not fix us for 7 more months.

Yeh nova they hit it prety good with this threads post but. We have ben saying what is wrong with the profession and what needs to be fixed for 7 months now....Not one publish or patch addressed us at all other than to make us less effective. That is what i am mad about. Charge shot was over rated, The timmer does not bother me at all. The fact that they opened up the code and did absolutly nothing but hurt one of our only gimmics is insulting. If they would have just put our dizzy in fas2 id be happy. Or a more logical solution...Make cs2 actulay kd? They couldent even do that....Maby make leg shot 3 work right so we have a shot that is usefull that targets a spacific ham. As it is now our random ham stats kill much faster hitting all 3 hams than our legshots do just hitting action because of the speed and low damage of the leg shots. I hold nothing against the devs for fixing charge shot. But 7 months of nothing....i cant just sit and wate anymore.

If carbineers were doctors...It is like wen the game launched they could only make stim d's. then a couple months later they could only make stim b's. Carbineers are now the doc equilivent of only being able to use stim a's with good componets (yeh i know they dont use componets)...but no more effective than a master marksman with good speed mods.

The thing that worries me is that judging by the previous "fixes" we've gotten, they'll have broken the 30% that works by the time they fix the other 70% :/
