Thread: NOVA and others, after the publish, what toolbar?
i have been using 2-3 specials macros so far, but i think i will be heading your way after Pub7...
So my word is it sounds like a good way to start to make em toolbars then
Yes i need more toolbar room hehe and thats a good thing : )
But why make a macro spaming one special five times? or is that for pve...If you have more than 3 specials qued up in pvp your doing it wrong you need to choose your shots more carfully.

SO! For the most part, my toolbar shots are single attacks, unless I hit SHIFT, then they are AOE shots. I tend to spam specials as long as I'm not about to keel over dead. (After Publish 7)
Any thoughts?
being a Master Doctor, my toolbar is dominated by medicines, but here goes
F1- Ranged Stim S/F1- Cure Stun
F2- ActionShot S/F2- Cure Dizzy
F3- LegShot2S/F3- FirstAid
F4- BurstShot1S/F4- Rez Pack
F5- ChargeShot S/F5- Cure Poison
F6- ScatterShot1 S/F6- Cure Disease
F7- CrippleShotS/F7- /yell Macro "HOLD BLOODY STILL SO I CAN HEAL YOU"
F8- Stim D S/F8- /peace
F9- Stim DS/F9- /aim
F10- Stim E S/F10- Warning Shot
F11- FAS2 S/F11- Quick Armor Macro
F12- /mountS/F12- /dismount
after the patch i'll be up to 4-3-1-3 or so, so I'll make the obvious Scatter/FAAchanges, and I'll be dropping my Nov CM so my F1 will be opening up
F1 = stand
F2 = kneel
F3 = blank, use it for specific items like tickets or crafting tools
F4 = prone
F5 = CS1
F6 = FAS2
F7 = Crippling Shot
F8 = BS1
F9 = WS1
F10 = /healdamage
F11 = /healdamage self
F12 = /attack (need to change this, its unused...)
F13 = (shift F1 is technically F13) /harvest meat
F14 = /mount (i've needed to get away in a hurry before
F15 = laser carbine(i like to change weapons quickly if the situation needs it)
F16 = elite carbine
F17 = krayt dh17 carbine
F18 = AS1
F19 = LS2
F20 = SS2
F21 = SF2
F22 = /healwound
F23 = /healwound self
F24 = /peace
i definitely need to rework it

Am I the only one that thinks /sit and /kneel are kinda worthless when it comes to pvp? There are so many more things that are more useful to place in the toolbar than /sit and /kneel i.e. food & spice.
Eimi Togi/Starsider
I had the same type of setup for a while, with single attacks on top and area attacks on the bottom. I liked it but needed more room so I redid everything recently. I'm not a big fan of shift+ in combat, so my attack toolbars are empty at the bottom.
Toolbar 1 - carbine specials
Toolbar 2 - pikeman specials
Toolbar 3 - guns / pikes on top, armor on bottom
Toolbar 4 - food/spice/drinks
I got lucky, early in the game I changed my mouse-mode button from 'alt' to the windows key, and the mouse wheel button. What's the benefit? I can now use the alt key for hot keys and macro's. I actually remapped a lot of the keys to be similar what my previous long term game used. Diablo II.
So I have:
alt-b= backpack(inventory)
alt-s = skills
alt-c = character sheet
alt-m = local map
alt-d = datapad
alt-e = email
alt-p = community
The bonus was, I can use ctrl for command related functions rather than interface related:
ctrl-x = cut
ctrl-c = copy
ctrl-v = paste
ctrl-o = options
And since I use them so often I threw several other commands in there:
crtl-a =/tellpetkill
ctrl-s = /tellpet stay
ctrl-d = /tellpet guard (defend)
ctrl-f = /tellpet follow me
ctrl-q = /tellpet follow other
ctrl-w = /tellpet wedge
ctrl-m = harvest meat
ctrl-, = harvest hide
ctrl-. = harvest bone
I just realized I could use alt-F# for a whole next row of hot keys too. My SWG interface is worse than most flight sims. I recommend petitioning the devs to once again allow changing the mouse mode key, I tried it on another server and it wouldn't work. I also tried going to modeless for a while but I'd start typing and all these windows would pop up it was ugly.
Anyway here's my current setup for my hotkeys, I'll probably change them shortly though needing more room for combatspecials:
F1 = Enhanced E11
F2 = EE3
F3 = rescue
F4 = chargeshot1
F5 = cripplingshot
F6 = actionshot1
F7 = legshot2
F8 = fullautosingle2
F9 = scattershot2
F10 = maskscent
F11 = reserved for secondary trap
F12 = reserved for primary trap
SF1 = DXR6
SF2 = Laser Carbine
SF3 = aim
SF4 = assist
SF5 = reserved for secondary food
SF6 = reserved forprimary food
SF7 = crafting station
SF8 = fullautoarea2
SF9 = forage
SF10 = conceal
SF11 = areatrack
SF12 = pet stims
How do you posture change you ask?
keypad / = stand
keypad * = kneel
keypad - = sit
keypad + = prone
I'll likely move these around a bit, but I use all the arrow and home thru page up keys for navigating the text area. But if you can make it happen I highly recommend changing the mouse mode key, it's just such a waste of a whole set of command keys to use alt for it.
