Thread: Action Bar still matter?
when i 1st started playing this game, i though the ham bar was a cool twist on the other "health and mana" games.
i also thought it was kinda cool that each class targeted different pools...
pistol=health
carbine=action
rifle= mind
but lately i have been noticing a huge randomness when i fight, and now, 9 out of 10 times i finsh off an enemies health first...
maybe its the huge variety of specials as i'm getting closer to master...
i used to use the action bleed and cripple, therefore, targeting action, and finishing action first...
now the bleeds suk so it doesnt drop the action that quick...
in any event, why am i seeing this departure from targeting the action pool?
is this intended?
why do so many carbineer shots seem random pooled?

The Elite professions target random pools whereas the Marksman skills hit their respective pools only. I believe this is intended but hopefully upgrading our LegShot3 to higher damage and AoE while keeping it in the Action pool will help.
There is also the 3:2:1 ratio of hit chance on random hits to HAM. So 50% of the random shot hits go to Health.
might have something to do with /legshot3 being broken, but that is getting fixed in the new patch
so hopefully that will change. The bleed nerf kind of bothered me though, especially SOE's description. Bleeds were effecting epic level encounters.
I wasdoing the NS's with some guildies yesterday, it was myself as a master carbineer, a TKM, another lower level carbineer and a BH. We get to the eldar, i manage to get a bleed stuck for 58 damage!!!! So then without thinking i start with /crippleshot and the /fullautosingle2's to get some damage in. After about 15 shots i noticed i had not yet applied any states, so i decided to do an examine and see if my Ranger skills would let me know her defence vs. states. It didn't but it did explain something else i am surprised i didn't notice before. 100% resistance to energy ... damn ... switch to the DXR6 i suppose .... 100% acid, hmmm.... Heat maybe? No Dice! 100% there to. So how exactly does on hurt this thing as a carbineer? Simple ... you don't.
Carbineers not being ableto do action damage is an issue,try out some other specials maybe, i have used Scattershot2 to great effect, especially grouped in PvE. Hopefully when /legshot3 has the damage increased it will be used more often, much like /headshot3 isnow.
