  1. Your TKA guildmates take pity and stop using specials so you can get SOME XP.

  2. Doctors call you to offer buffs when you pass through Coronet.

  3. PvPerscompliment you on your Storm Trooper roleplaying, "Cause you really know how to drop dead with an E11".

  4. In PvP no one bothers to target you.

  5. You spend more time aligning the MOB into an organized cone than you do shooting them.

  6. You /cheer every time you get more than two people to KD with chargeshot2

  7. Your toon's arm is permanently stuck in the upright position

  8. Riflemen one shot and lock the permissions on the kill you were shooting for 5min.

  9. You offer your services for the Corvette and everyone asks what your other skills are.

  10. You think 1 hour for killinga 150k HAM MOBis a good time out.

A couple of notes:

Before the last fix #1 used to be. Your TKA guildmates Dizzy everyone for you and then stop using specials, so you can get some XP.

Ok...ok... maybe this post isn't funny, but all of it except for the arm lock is true.

began carbine back when actionshot1 rooted any creature in the game in place and was endlessly spam able. It was a golden age, the nirvana of the novice carbineer. I mastered Carbineer right before the specials were fixed in publish 6.

"You still a carbineer?" is a joke in my PA. Usually it was followed by, "Are you still a doctor and can you buff me?" My PA leader and I both Mastered around the same time. We hunted together, died together and had a great time.

We were equals. We covered each other's back. We had great time together, but there was Imbalance in the land. Anytime we fought along with others our fun quotient dropped like a rock. Everyone without a carbine easily and massively out damaged us. We'd brag about surviving dungeons others soloed daily.

When combat balance was moved back months I figured I may as well change my template. In the middle of the night. I crept to my house put all my carbines into a back pack and pulled out a big hammer, an axe and a sword.

At the next PA hunt everyone was shocked to see me holding a sword instead of a carbine. The ironic point came when my PA leader arrived also holding a sword. There was an uncomfortable silence between us and then laughter.

Personally, I think carbineer is perfectly balanced in the game. Red cons usually mean RED cons. Most of the dungeons require a team of carbineer to beat. The game is full of challenge and excitement, except when there is anyone else around who's no a cabineer.

My preference would be to reduce everyone else's speed, damage and weapons down to Carbineer (Except for Pikeman, just fix their accuracy). This would raise the game challenge and we wouldn't need "Super Battle Droids"or 30k Rebel Ensigns. No one should be able to solo a Krayt.

Well that's my rant and humor. I'll be off Soloing Krayts until carbineer is balanced.

Pretty funny although I don't find most of them to be true.

hmmm... i might be able to solo a krayt with a carbine, it'd just take a long long time. I'll try it some day.

Creative jokes, but are you sure you're not in an Apprentice Carbine Specialist? : )

Let me know if you need some tips on how to use Carbineer to make some xp.

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah. I'm definitely a master. Honestly, I've had a great time with the carbine. I can tank and kill quite a bit in the game. There's a post somewhere about me and my PA leader fighting a Dark Jedi for three hours and winning. I've got the imperial disk 3/4 to prove it. I've killed Nightsister Elders while the TKA tanked and complained they could only do kinetic damage. Faction XP hunting is awesome with the carbine with area attacks.

And yes alot of those experiences were from the grind to master. Good call. They are also from six+ months of carbine.

The places where carbine still fall flat for me are:

1. High level mobs are rarely affected by state changes. (Stun, Dizzy, KD, etc...)
2. Getting the KD and Dizzy to work together is a skill and any lag can make it impossible.
3. Grouping greatly increases the power of carbine, but it's not easy to find a group all the time.
4. Lack of shooting content. All Creature MOBs like to run up and pound on the carbineer making the use of area attacks tricky or useless. (I know gun to a knife fight, but 80% of the game is knife fight. I'm encouraged to see the corvette is a gun fight. We need more dungeons like that.)
5. Compared to all other classes we're too slow. Speed slices or skill tapes are a must.
6. PvP with a carbine really takes A LOT of dedication and money just to be competitive. (or picking up BH.)
- Get the presice carbine, custom made from a master.
- Get speed tapes
- Get food to counter mind attacks
- Get special gear to build the custom carbine.
- Form fitting stocks, Krayt tissue, etc...
- Speed or damage slice of x% or toss it.
- Limited damage types. We all know there are examples of kinetic and stun carbines in the movies and books. Why limit the class? It doesn't make sense, except in the realm of not enough development time.
- etc...
That type of PvP dedication in any other profession would put me in the upper echelon. Carbine it's merely adequate. I'm not afraid of hard work either. I worked hard to be the best I could.

I know this is nothing new, and I'm not looking for a flamefest or a slamfest. Carbineer has been slowly improving from day 1. Since the first fix for the DH17 so it didn't need a stock.

These are just the experiences I've had. I'm hoping that some of them are addressed in the combat balance and future adventure releases. I think carbine is the core of the game and a huge part of the STARWARS feel. What was Luke using in the Death Star when Ol'Ben was killed... a carbine.

and Newb, I'm sure there's a couple of more Indians still hidden around, just keep looking.
