Thread: WHich gun and which shot, I need help!
As for shots that gets abit more complicated, it's not like we are rifleman that only need to use 2-3 different specials in pvp. Depends abit if you play as support in a group or just going solo or trying to just inflict damage.
In group fights I mostly use FullAutoArea2 for the state effects along with WildShot2 (better chance of stunning then FAA2) if there is someone that got good state defenses. Also ChargeShot2 to KD and SupressionFire2 and/or ActionShot2 for Posture down incase they have good KD resist. If you only want pure damage AOE attack then use BurstShot2.
If you're soloing then use FullAutoSingle2 to add state changes and if you don't hit the speedcap with ScatterShot2 and CripplingShot since FAS2 gives better DPS. CripplingShot is our high damage (single target) special but hit's a random stat pool while ScatterShot2 hits 3 random stat pools with one shot. Personally I use CripplingShot when my enemies are unbuffed and ScatterShot2 if they are buffed and wearing armor, but I got +25 extra speed so I hit the cap.
The Range modifiers shows you at what range your carbine is most effective at. Most carbines got an ideal range around 30-40. Always remember to check the Range Modifiers when buying a carbine. My elite for example got an ideal range +66 at 35m.
Even though you show poor forum manners......you have valid questions so let me help.
There is no BEST CARBINE in any situation. In general, the Elite is tops for PvP, but the Laser is better against non-ranged elite masters. PvP gets tricky because of the Damage Mitigation, please refer to the STICKY posts. In PvE you have to look at the resistance of your target and pick the weapon that best hits it. We have Energy, Acid, and Heat damage types with AP0, AP1, and AP2 (laser only).
Above all else, Carbineer is a thinking profession......
Range Modifiers are on all weapons, affects the accuracy of the attack.
Carbineer has many, many specials and there are at least 8 that are best in a given situation. Just like the weapons, a shot must be chosen to match the target/situation. We have a lot of awesome AoE attacks, BurstShot2, FullAutoArea2, and ChargeShot2, but be careful as you will get aggro'd by everything in the cone. Single target attacks are BurstShot1, CrippleShot, ScatterShot2, FullAutoSingle2, and ChargeShot1. Please refer to the STICKY post on specials.
Lastly, choosing a weapon and looking at combat in more detail can be found in my STICKY post ![]()
Ok, for PvP, Carbineer does not have all that many options... For one, our damage can be prety well reduced with a simple 80% Energy Coposite armor set and some doctor buffs... But, if you do get Master Carbineer and decide to do some PvPing I suggest using a laser carbine when dealing wiht other ranged dudes because of the higher ideal range (don't spazout yet, this will be explained). If dealing with a melee dude your best bet would be and EE-3 heat carbine because of the lower Pointblank mod. you could also use an Elite carbine if you feel giddy...
As for the right specials to use... That is a tough one becasue I perfer PvE to PvP so i dont get much into it...
EE-3 carbine all the way! When hunting, the low pointblank mod comes in handy. It also help that the EE-3 is a Heat rifle becasue most mobs are Energy or kinetic resist.
Action shot, FullAutoSingle 2 (EE-3 is already AoE), Burst shot and Crippling shot are the most usefull in this situation. It may help to bleed them first and then spam FAS 2 (if you are buffed, if not then yur screwed).
Range modifiers affect yur acuracy during battle. Positive mod's ( the little number beside the mobs HAM) mean better accuracy and Negative mods mena worse accuracy. Ideal range is the distance away from the target that will provide the best accuracy. This means that max range and point blank range will give the worst accuracy ( again i hint at using the EE-3 for melee opponents and the laser for ranged opponents).
That's all i got... Sorry i dont understand Mitigation much except that it reduces the amount of damage taken from ranged attacks...
