Lasers are always good for pve. They have good damage and can be pretty fast with a speed slice and pup. Also they have Medium Armor piercing with is nice. The DRX6 are decent, usually only good for things that are vulnerable to acid. They are not too powerful and usually pretty slow. The E11, EE3, and DH17 are all decent weapons too. They are pretty fast with decent damage. The HAM costs on the DH17 are nice and low, so it is good to use if you are not buffed.

It really depends on what you are going to be doing with it. Each one has its advantages and I always carry at least one of each on me, however I use the Laser the most for PvE.

DRX6 is nice when using formfit-stock and Krayt. It has good min damage (good for PvP). My DRX6 is better than my Laser when doing geo lab. It cut through crazed genosians like butter. Damage is more consistent than with the laser. Another advantage is better accuracy at short range.

Ham cost on DRX6 is pretty bad though so I only use it when buffed. Currently II use Laser Carb and DRX6. But I might make me a Krayt E11 to use when I am doing harvester runs on Naboo. My other guns are overkillwith most enemies and I could save some decay using a cheaper gun.

Nim's Slugthrower is fun to use, but it isn't good unless you don't have carbines 4 yet.

iv got a 1.6 speed sliced krayte elite carbine 340 max damage or somthing like that, i was disapointed with the speed slice as i have BH 0-4-0-0 so speed wasnt a problem but somthing like this gun would be great for just a carbineer.
