Thread: Armour Encumberance A suggestion.

This is now my 3rd attempt to submit this post


I am a master Carbineer/Swordsman as a swordsman I get a skill that reduced the special attack cost of the two handed weapon I am holding (Melee Toughness). Anyway in practice I haven’t really noticed any benefit from it but it did get me thinking about something that could be used to enhance carbineer. What if we got a skill that effectively lowered the encumberance of our equipped armour?


This could be used 1 of 2 ways (depending on personal preference) A carbineer with this skill could either run around with run of the mill armour the same as their pistoleer and rifleman counterparts but end up slightly better off in the secondary stats OR be able to run around wearing high effectiveness (with Effective Slice) sets.


In my opinion for this to be worth while we would need at least a 20-25% encumberance reduction, but even 10% would be better than nothing. At the very least it would give us something to do rather than just carbiciding ourselves against meatlumps, durnis and the like.

To my knowledge, the toughness skill mode reduces the damage you take when you have the weapon equipped.

Hmm perhaps my information is incorrect but they guy who told me is usually right when it comes to in game mechanics.


Anyway my suggestion still stands, do you think it would be worth while?

I believe the toughness has to do with damage taken while wielding the weapon also.

As for an armor skill, I really dont think it would have much use. Unless it allowed specific armors that others could not wear (and do we really need better armors?). A decent set of buffs, and brandy, I dont even notice the encumberance. Why use skill points on something that can be buffed anyway? I would much rather buy buffs/brandy and use the SP on something else.
