Thread: How about a craftable Slug Thrower?

What if weaponsmiths could craft a slugthrower.
The way i see it Nyms would still be a "special" with its acid damage. But I would like to see a crafted slugthrower. This gun would do Kinetic damage and perhaps be loaded with armour piercing bullets (AP2 or 3?) and have very close range damage (approx 225min-275max?).
This would be a looted schematic and be difficult to get (ala thescythe maybe a longer quest instead of un-soloable mob) but would be sufficiently effective to warrant the effort involved.
I know this wouldn't answer all problems people have with the class but it would be a start and should be relatively easy to implement since the model is already in game and in use.
I DO NOT want to see a stun carbine, I DO want to see more effective stun armour.
What are your thoughts on this?

I actually agree with what you are saying.....although I would even take it a step further and say how about they give each profession a craftable set or looted set (from quests) of profession specific armor. To have armor that could look and have stats that is related to your profession? The idea of also have armor piercing bullets for a craftable slug thrower would be way cool but also would something with stun damage.

Yeah, making the SLugthrower a schematic you can get in reward would be sweet I think.

I doubt this will ever happen. The Devs have stated that they want to reserve Kinetic Damage only for Melee Proffessions. That's why the changed the Tusken Rifle from Kinetic to Energy, and that's why they've refused to change the Nym Slugthrower over to Kinetic. The only non-melee Kinetic damage weapon is the Striker Pistol, and the only reason they've left that in is because it's AP0 and has real poor damage stats.

well ok maybe not kinetic then (even though that would be the most logical damage type) but maybe a diferent type to what we have already (Heat, cold or blast maybe). I just wanted to highlight the fact that the Devs could address some of our issues using assets that are already in the game with minimal effort, this would at least make the class more playable while we wait for the re-balance.

Actually if the slug thrower was craftable it could be enhanced. I find the slugthrower a nice carbine as is, but if it was craftable it could be very nice. Think either krayt tissue, or gorax bone shards (depending on components to which is necesary) to enhance this. All the other professions weapons get it to be craftable in some way (disclaimer: yes i know the geo pitsol schematic is rare). Imagine it with w/imp stock, using say -.5 speed, 50 max damage loot. looking at a gun 125-250 damage 3.0 speed (or so i think), if a good damage slice happens its in the range of 150-300. Considering it acid damage, and using base stats (which i believe weaponsmsiths could make better base stats) that's not a bad gun in my opinion.

OK so a couple of reasonably positive replies there we should start a full on campaign.
MAKE THE SLUGTHROWER CRAFTABLE.........
