Okay I got bored of grinding fruitlessly and decided to have a mess in the sandbox. My standard char template is Carbineer , Creature Handler. Thinking - choose the two most nerfed professions and by the time I made it to Master (I'm slow at grinding.) they will be the most unnerfed professions and will probably work best.
Now the Template that has intrigued me most is the Master Bounty Hunter, Master Carbineer Template. So I logged onto TC-Bria and got it set up, the spare points I spend on Brawler 1000, but these could have been better spent I think.
So lots of folk asking for duels, I get buffed, I get armoured and accept the first duel, a Teras Kasi Master with no armour. With a bit of jogging around, spamming sprayshot, chargeshot2 and burstshot2 and cripple shot she's soon on her back, taking damage. The knockdown dizzy seems to work well enough, and she can't stand up - I eventually incap her. We rest up and go at it again, the same result. Now two things spring to mind here -
1 She had no armour.
2 She wasn't using meditate to recover quickly.
Okay next up a fully armoured Commando Template offers to take me on with his flamer. This was a much tougher fight. Lots of running to different ranges, more varied specials. Eventually aftera long, I mean over 20 minutes battle he goes down incapped. He'd been using alot of flame specials on me that really wounded the health bar - frighteningly... over 50% of a Trandoshan buffed health bar black. Now that was bad. I won purely by getting lots of knockdown dizzy, then spamming crippleshot. the +115 speed making it quite usable.
Okay last fight of the night, A fully armoured, TKM Pistoleer I think, he seemed to be shooting at me with a scatter pistol or similar. This was the longest and toughest fight. Many times I knocked him down, and applied a dizzy, and was able to get his health bar down to about 50% using crippleshot, but continually he'd get into better range and start the knockdown dizzy combo. unable to stand up I ended up often pinned to the floor - but he wasn't able to deal significant damage to me. This routine carried on for 45 minutes, neither of us able to do enough damage. Eventaully he got my mind bar down to about 30% and I gave up ( had to log.) As the fight went on I was able to knockdown dizzy less and less - I suspect this is due to him using meditate.
All these fights were fought using the DXR6 Carbine given from the froggie things.
The conclusion to this is more than anything that PvP currently is pointless, if I'd had a brandy as well I could of left my man on auto attack and gone to watch the tele for 45 mins, and he would have survived.
My suggestion?
Tone down buffs, improve weapons, tone down NPC and MOB High end content. Tone down the Deathwatch and Corvette and re-gear the game so that there are more benefits to having a mixture of professions in your team, and that things like Krayt Dragons CANNOT be solo'd, even by Dark Jedi Masters with full composite, buffs, brandy, synthsteakand Canape?
Maybe that's why Luke got incapped by Vader first time they met on Bespin? VAder maybe had access to doc buffs, musicians and Brandy - non of which is available on Dagobah I guess, the second time he had been on Endor so could have got buffed at the research outpost cantina ?
Personally I've given up on the idea that PvP is ever going to be a great part of this game, I'll stick to PvE until the system is improved. Running and Spamming specials for 45 minutes seems a bit ridiculous to me...

And sadly the frustration you feel is multiplied on LIVE because the access to uber equipment/food/drink/buffs is even easier.
I played my PvP template there but didn't have my SEA's to speed cap so it was rough.....I then went up 0400 BH and of course the difference was huge, although I did miss my defense stacking
Even though the Devs are not doing anything right now, which they COULD, we should see almost all of these fixes on the Combat Revamp Sandbox.
