Thread: carbineer next possible FotM

we all saw it happen to pikeman when people realized NS were a great source of high damage and DoT polearms. now i dont know about your servers but the pike sales have died and now i'm seeing more and more DoT carbines everyday. i'm thinking people are making too many trips to the corvette

a buddy gave me a 283 strength health poison carbine. if i combine that with the enhanced e-11, with the 150 str bleed, i might be able to take someone down in pvp before i get kd/dizzyed to death!
i need so much practice with master carbineer in pvp.. i have only tried it like twice.

yep, carbineer aint your, 'click on target, spam X special' takes a bit of practice, just got to learn to think before you shoot. and if your using a laser carbine agaisnt other ranged profs.. dont- use an elite carbine with a very high min damage, you'll do more damage on average because of the damage mitigation 
if things look bad in a fight, think around it, analyse the situation, and figure a way around it.

i have a 239 strength 200s health fire carbine. last battlei was in i almost took out 10 rebels myselfusing area2,burst2 and charge2. stupid jedi got me. but i watched him burn!!!!

I don't know about an FOTM. I've got an Actionpoison Laser Carbineand a Mind poison Laser Carbine. If I had picked them up before the swap nerf, we might have had a chance, now.... meh, not so sure.
We're still not of the defensive level to absorb damage like a melee tank, so those precious seconds to do the swap and apply the DOTs just isn't there.

I don't think carbs will be FOTM. Honestly FOTM seems to be only for duelists and not for gruop PvP.
But I can tell you, with the amount of large group PvP on radiant myself teamed up with a rifleman firing flurry at range or/and a fencer using dizzy 2 up close, its quite devestating. Large AoE of KD'd/dizzy people waiting for us to manhandle them one by one.
I generally start large battles with my 293 stregnthhealth poison ee3 and after a few charge2/full auto area 2, I switch to my kryat elite to do more focused fighting

my server they all have their uber solo template and their group PvP consists of players with solo templates running around ganking people. then if a large battle breaks out jedi show up and it's over. i'm sure if the DoT get better and better you will see many more carbineers around. we might not hit FotM status but you're have more carbineers on your server than i have fingers

Carbineer will never get FOTM for one simple reason:
Carbineer is combat engame, the profession requires knowledge of the game and... well... to be smart.
and alot of PvPers/Duelists are not smart.
"u83r 1337" wannabe will NEVER be able to use a carbine efficiently.
just look at those who say "no kiting !" "cheater ! you run away !" "carbines suxx0rzzzz" etc...
my toon went carbineer when i started the game, thought it sucked, dropped, went back carbineer a month ago and now that toon's pwning FOTM/Defense stackers whoever is not smart enough. and that's ALOT of people. not all, but alot.

who needs tatics when DoTs do all the work for you? if some 500+ strength ones start dropping you will see people shift. it might not hit FotM but you will see a lot more carbines in PvP now that NS aren't a walk in the park

Unless nightsisters start dropping mind fire / poison carbines at an insane rate, I don't see this profession being FoTM

i hope not because i recently decided to go carbs because of being different then the most MBH/MP out there. and i like the challenge of not just spamming one special. now if it is the next FotM ill be dubbed one of the people that just recently joined carbineer to be uber which is not my case.
