Lo guys
this is my first psot on the forum so please be gentle :-)
Right now having been play SWG now for around 2 months I have chosen my combat path to be that of the Carbineer.
However I am finding it increasingly frustrating to try to gain carbine xp. I feel that we are a little cheated when it comes to weapon damage and this in turn leads to low xp even on hunts involving larger animals (Squills and Rancor's). My carbine seems to be one of the better
(Elite carbine with dam around 150-297 (sliced) )but I do still feel like its just not doing the damage.
so my questions atm are
1)What is the best way to gain xp as a carbineer (Not interested in macro's or anything like that I wanna play the game)
2)which weapon (or combination of weapons ) should I be using?

First off when dealing with the different weapons, don't forget to check the various creatures you kill to see their specific resistances to a certain type of damage. Since you seem to rely on only elites right now (which is energy damage), it would not perform well on a creature with 25% energy resists vs. using a good EE3 on that same creature with 0% heat resists.
Related to this, if you find a good laser carbine, I and many others I've seen before me recommend that as a 'grinding' weapon, simply because of its Medium AP (which will always do 25% more damage than Light AP weapons, eg. Elite, EE3, E11).
For creatures to kill, head over to a more 'wild' and dangerous planet if you haven't already. Those creatures there give 2.5k and upwards of exp. per kill. Baz nitches/Giant baz nitches on Dathomir may be ok if you're high enough, or possibly quenkers (and their harder variant which I forget the name of right now) on Dantooine. Group hunting unfortunately will almost result in lower exp. gains for professions such as carbineer since we don't really have a good pool-specific special and hence rely on random damage.
Read the stickied topics (esp. Carbineer FAQ) for more in-depth info. Good luck with the carbine toting

The laser should ber your weapon of choice. Check the accuracy on it too, always helps.
savage quenkers are nice, but mix it up a bit. find out what is a nice spawn of harvestable and hunt them for a bit. will help you get cash.
and have a browse of the stickies, they really are great. good luck.

One clarification, the Armor Rating and Armor Piercing must be taken into account as well. In the above case the Elite and EE3 would actually do the exact same damage (assuming they are of equal build quality) because the Elite has a higher Armor Piercing value than the EE3. Granted this may be a bit complicated at this point, but don't look purely at resists...... And the Laser is two levels above the EE3 so it would do 25% more damage than the EE3 in the above case.
Carry at least a Laser, DXR6, and EE3 so you will have the best of the 3 damage types we have....of course if you have an uber Carbine of a different type, carry that too.

get buffed, buy a good set of ubese armor, get a brawler friend to group and tank for you. both of you mind buff, doc buff. go to dath. (hunt enraged rancors use your acid carbine.) or go to dant and hunt huurtons. (bring your ee3
