Thread: Is it just me? or...
I've seen carbineers solo some crazy stuff and do amazing things that I don't think is supposed to happen. I've seen them just spam the knockdown move and virtually be able to kill anything.
I've seen them take on a Mountain Squill by himself and just spam the knockdown shot and bascially cripple anything he wants. Is it supposed to work like that?
I'd like to state that even though Action Shot does seem to be doing what Supression Fire should it still is not a 100% effective, and only works against monsters that are strictly melee. If you force a ranged opponet to go prone you are actually working against yourself.
I've had it hit succesfully 3 times in a row, and it wont force a posture change(although admittingly it does tend to work most of the time).
As well - with our higher than normal HAM usage, you can't solo things -way- tougher than you, because eventually hitting Action Shot over and over will cause you to run out of HAM much faster than normal. So while it does allow you to take on some hard things, you still can't tackle things much higher than you.
using action shot I vs Ranged Weapon using opponents works just fine as well, if you just AS1 them, than move out of 64m and let them bleed. The NPC won't move towards you until the next bleed occurs and than you can just rinse and repeat and only have to move in when the mob is about to die to get the exp.
it's a mixture of bad AI and Special that certainly is not supposed to work like this.
P.S. animals will move in right away, it's just a problem in the NPC AI but for animals just use warning shot and reverse kite them.
Anyway, Action Shot 1 (which most likely does have the posture change effect from Suppression Fire) works pretty well, causing a posture change on nearly every hit, although when they made changes to knockdown effects they may have made changes to the timing for posture changes. I have to do an action shot against dalyrakes every other shot since then, instead of every third shot.
In any case, I am personally going to pick up suppression fire (Marksman tactics 4, or whatever it's called) because they will almost certainly remove the posture effect from AS1 as part of the first major patch. Unfortunately, general combat xp is not easy to come by :/
Also, you can easily get yourself killed using AS1 against tough mobs if you don't keep a close eye on the posture indicator. Sometimes a shot doesn't cause a posture change, and if you have a bunch of other stuff queued up on a fast-moving mob, you can find yourself in serious trouble. It's certainly not foolproof.
Is it just me,or now that I'm finally a TKM and choose to wear my profession title, (with pride I might add), that every 12yr old and under snot nosed kid is nipping at me asking for a duel? At first I was almost flattered, after a small while it just became annoying and so I politley said 'No thank you'. Now it's quite simply a royal pain in the ass to which I do not even respond ala /afk style.
Everywhere you can imagine, during missions, hunting groups (receiving challenges from fellow group members if you can believe that), while crafting, while waiting at the shuttle/space port (my personal favorite). I suppose this is one of those things that comes with the territory that I should simply learn to ignore, however I find it theraputic to vent a little here, so please bare with me.
At anyrate I'm curious to hear if this is some kind of constant that everyone here experiences or is this a twi'lek girl thing?
Thank you for letting me vent a little.
cheers.
