1. All i have are laser for energy and nym's for acid. Do we have any other damage types?

2. When I was a master rifleman i could sometimes get 3K headshots. The best i get now is made 1600 but it goes to random pools.

3. Is burst shot 2 supposed to aggro everything around you? Its our best damage shot but use it once and now you are surrounded by a mob?

3. Am i missing something? Does it get any better?

I cant do Janta missions with any kind of speed.

I cant do anything more than assist at Tusken or Squill caves.

Dont even mention PvP. suppression wont knock anything down.

I cant find anyone on my server (Chilestra) who kept it. All are/were hologrinding it. So they aren't any help.

Can I get a few pointers other than the standard "Give up that XXXX and get rifleman"!

Thanks

How do you kill 1000 warriors? One at a time. If you try to take on the 1000 at once, you have lost before you have begun to fight!

I am amazed you mastered Carbineer without learning more about it, please go read the FAQ. Carbineer is a difficult profession to be good at compared to the other one shot "I win" profs. We have to think more and be better prepared to survive and even then we have no way to beat the equally prepared.....we are not a solo PvP profession by any means.

And I see Carbineer titles all over Chilastra, quite amazing actually.

And those FotM Rifleman, well they don't like to see me coming....unless they have CM, which most do then I take my turn at the Cloner

1. All i have are laser for energy and nym's for acid. Do we have any other damage types?

The EE3 does heat damage, the DXR6 does acid and is typically faster and higher damage than the Nym's carbine.

2. When I was a master rifleman i could sometimes get 3K headshots. The best i get now is made 1600 but it goes to random pools.

Cripplingshot with a laser can hit well over 3k as can scattershot 2 (divided between 3 pools) on standing targets. If you do a chargeshot first to KD the target for a 1.5x modifier you can hit up to 8k on unarmored targets.

3. Is burst shot 2 supposed to aggro everything around you? Its our best damage shot but use it once and now you are surrounded by a mob?

Burstshot 2 is a coneshot, so it is supposed to hit everything in the cone. Our best single target damage shot is cripplingshot (if you are speed capped) or FAS2 if not. I like scattershot 2 as well on large targets, it seems to take them down faster for me, but this needs a fast gun, SEAs, or BH carbines like cripplingshot to be effective.

I cant do Janta missions with any kind of speed.

Try an EE3 as many of them are heat vuln. Even without one if you are buffed and armored they should be a beeze.

I cant do anything more than assist at Tusken or Squill caves.

Speed attatchment, speed sliced guns, guns made with form-fitted stocks, krayt guns, or dabbling in BH. The stock Master Carbineer isn't very effective right now.

Exactly right. Whoever one-stared this post must not be a carbineer

Iebas, thanks for no help. Kael, loads of help.

I just didnt realize that these carbs u get access at carbines 1 and 2 were useful. In none of the other profs are they. The EE3 with heat has helped. The knockdown is also helpful, however, I dont knock down very often at all...certainly not as often as a TKA does. I try cripple shot, but still havent gotten an average of over about 1500 a shot. The burstshot 2 seems better but u only get 2-3 shots b4 u get swarmed. Ive actually had to switch to my pistol with head (and lvl 4 skill lvl ) to get mobs off of me with healthshot (ick. whats with that)

According to Iebas, carbs cannot be soloed, it is a "helper" prof. I am working back on getting marksman and I just fail to believe that I can do more damage on a regular basis with headshot 2 from rifles 2with an energy rifle than I can with a Nym's or Elite carb at Master carbs.

I came here looking for help. I got basically 2 respones.

1. from Iebas that basically reads u r a noob, read to FAQ...I did but few of my questions were answered in it which is why I made the post, thank you very much!

2. Kael who sympathizes and says I can do a little better as a carbineer but this is basically as good as it gets without bunches on AA (dont know about u but when i try and solo as a carb, my armor is shot after about 6 hours of hunting so why would I want to spend 200K+ to get AA that last me 6 hours?)

And where in the galaxy, Iebas did u see all these so called carbineers? Over the last week I hunted on dath, dant, and tat, got buffed and healed in bestine, theed, and coronet. Everywhere I went I searched either to try to get trained or trying to elicit app points. In a week with over 60 hours logged do you know how many times I was able to get trained by a non-NPC? 0...big fat zero. Do you know how many other carbs I saw in that time who were below my level? 3...Do you know how many have asked for training in the carb tree in a week? 0 .....I think you are full o xxxx when u say there are carbs everywhere. Either they dont post a carb title or they didnt log on all last week.

I am going to add BH and see if it helps. I should get about 60 more speed and acc and get a few more shots. If about 120 speed and 120 acc dont do it, I dont know what will.

The EE3 with heat has helped. The knockdown is also helpful, however, I dont knock down very often at all...certainly not as often as a TKA does. The knockdown has a long timer (30 secons I think?).. so using it more often than that won't work. Switch between ActionShot2 (posture down) and ChargeShots. Apparently, standing still helps (since we think better accuracy improves your chance of landing states/postures, and even /aim could help.

Don't really bother with the bleeds, heh. They're not all that useful anymore. Odds are that a single healthbleed is not worth the 6 seconds it takes you to switch to pistols and back. Also, BurstShot2 is only better if you dont have buffs (comparing the damage dealt vs HAM costs.) Don't worry too much about raw damage, but how fast you're dishing it out. A LOT of professions rely on damage only. As a Carbineer, you can actually USE speed slices, until you pretty much krayt all your weapons or have 25 in speed SEAs, heh. For Carbineers, its about speed, not damage. That said, stick with FullAutoSingle2 - its your best damaging shot unless you're speed enhanced.

Again, it really depends on your carbines. I can solo anything in this game, except perhaps a Giant Krayt (it tore through a brand new set of armor.) Sure, it takes long.. but that's only because Carbines were never really meant to be the most damaging. We inflict states and posture changes, and yes, against high-level stuff, we're not all that great. But hey, in small group PvP, you'll make others cry. I know I do.

Besides, SWG is a grouping game.. who likes to solo stuff anyway? Loot's overrated..

Put your Armor Attachments in either a: Ubese UnderShirt, Marbari Belt, or Ubese Bandolier. They won't decay then. Even a form-fitting undershirt that is insured can take a while to decay. I've had mine for 5 months and its at 950/1000 condition. Then again, I haven't grinded much lately.. so there haven't been that many PvE deaths.

Its funny you should say that. I'm one of about 4 known Carbineers on Starsider, andI think theonly one being a Melee stacker (master carbineer and master fencer.) The other is an MBH/Carbineer, another BH/Carbineer and the last, Carbineer/Doc. Since we're a rare breed, we generally stick to more hybrid titles like Maurauder or Mercenary, but I decided to sport my Master Carbineer title for 3 hours yesterday. I made 750 AP on Dantooine alone.. LOL

Rest in the fact that you'll be one of the few and the proud. Until Tuesday, that is, when our Bounty Hunter friends start to dabble, heh.

It'll do it, yes. For some of us Carbineer veterans, the BH speed and accuracy trade-offs aren't that appealing, mostly because we've had time to build up on Krayt Weapons and SEAs. But I recommend BH/Carbineer to anyone who is looking to have fun as a Carbineer, because otherwise, unless you're well equipped,Master Carbineer"alone" isseverly underpowered.

Oh, and welcome to our family. /hug hehe

Well actually when they nerfed the bleeds they added damage boosts to those specials. Pistoleers now use the healthshots as replacements to bodyshot. Carbineers of course wouldn't know this as our single pool attacks are completely worthless compaired to our multipool ones.

On the comment on how we aren't really damage dealers, I find I have more of a problem with taking damage. The only classes that can outdamage me are riflemen and swordsmen, not all of the time, and never by a lot. Hopefully after the BH prereqs drop medic will help me some in the damage taking department.

Whatever....

The reason to point to the FAQ and THEN answer questions is because of the tons of other useful stuff in there. The FAQ answers questions that most NOOBs haven't even thought of and SOME older gents often find something good in there too.

And like I never help anybody on this Forum.....oh please......
