I have been reading the forums for quite some time, just never posted. The stickies are great by the way. This seems to be the best run forum page. But to my question:

I am currently working my way up carbineer and creature handler...I used to be swordsman but the point and click massive damage is rather boring, no skill in that. O yes, of course I had to pick the big damage proffessions...But I was wondering where to throw the rest of my skill points. I am currently master medic but that is because I am not done with either CH or carbine. I am mainly staying PvE...being a carbineer and CH it is for obvious reasons. But where could I put my skill points to maximize performance. Right now I am only 1, 2, 1, 2 carbineer (switched over from swordsman a few days ago) so I gain about a skill or two a day. And my CH is 4, 2, 2, 3. Right now I am just finding that I can't do the damage to go against high end creatures. The status effectors are great, and the dizzy/knockdown works great against NPCs but against creatures I don't see how to last. Will it get a lot better as I go up, and where should the rest of my skill points go. I would love some feedback from some masters...maybe some who have dabbled in CH as well. Thank you.

That sounds like a pretty fun template, and could be pretty effective too, but here are my tips for it:

First, you should work your way up the speed tree (x000), holding the others for later. It will save you alot of trouble, trust me. Crippling Shot is not as good as it sounds once you actually get it. It still takes me about 3-4 seconds per CS and I've got 4312 Carbineer, so I mainly use FAS2, and will until I get a ways up the BH carbs tree.

Second, to answer your question about higher level content: It is doable, just that your template at the moment is a little weak for it. Once you get some better carbines, and further up the trees, you'll be able to participate in most higher level combat, though soloing anything much higher than a Rancor (the more elite Nightsisters, for instance), will prove difficult, but I dont know if anything can do that, so it seems alright to me.

I've Master Carbineer+ Master CH. Its a great template for PvE fighting with your pets tanking. For obvious reasons Rifleman is stronger than Carbineer but Carbineer is so much cooler

You won't go wrong with Master Carbineer+CH. I would put some skills in medic but not overly much.
