Thread: Applying status / effects : How Effective ?

I'm grinding in the middle of the Carb skill tree and can't see a lot of KD effects happening on my targets... Still I can easily apply random dizzy or blind effects. I was just wondering if there is a special skill cap where you can KD a target or a group of targets, with a high chance of success.

My worry is that with next to nil defense and an average damage output (to say the least), I don't see any reason to go further in the profession.

Someone give me hope, I don't want to jump in the rifle bandwagon. ^_^

It depends on your "targets". If you're going up against fellow players, no doubt you'll run into difficulty into KDing them and keeping them down with dizzy if they're stacked with defenses against stat effects. If they're complete newbies to PVP, or their templates just suck, you won't have much of a problem manipulating them with status effects. For creatures, I find it incredibly tough to keep them down, I wouldn't bother trying to KD/dizzy those since it doesn't seem to last very long at all on them. For humanoid NPC's, it's not as hard as creatures and in some cases, players, and they tend to stay down longer.

As far as nil defenses and damage output: For PVP, go rifleman now for good happy success, unless you can handle being a support role in a group. For PVE, same as the PVP.

heres my pvp strategy (3444 BH/MC/nov medic) almost MBH!!!

Full Auto 2 with poisoncarbine (action dot 245 strength) until blind dizzy and stun stick

/peace

switch to krayt dxr6

then i line up my combat que with the following specials:

Action shot 2

Cripple

Cripple

Fire KD

Cripple

Cripple

Charge shot 2

Cripple

Cripple

Suppression 2

Then keep a close eye on their Posture icon. If at any time one of the posture changes works, immediatly clear combat que and spam Cripple 2 while they're on their back. Also, keep them blinded (1/3 less accuracy), dizzied (obvious), stunned (halves their melee/ranged defense AKA they will mitigate only half your dmg output as opposed to not being stunned), bleeding (action shot 2 is an area bleed as well as area posture change down), poisoned (if you have a DOT weapon that is), intimidated (i switch back and forth from nov medic and nov brawler depending if im PVPing or PVEing, since intimidation 1 nearly halves the dmg output of the target i pick up nov brawler, then if i wanna go to the DWB or whereever i pick up nov medic), on fire (using /peace then switching your weapons bypasses the weapon switch delay, allowing BH's like myself to use all their resources including Torso Shot.

With all of these states on your target, you increase both your offense and defense. The states are rather easy to apply to even the stackiest of stackers, the hard part is landing the posture changes.

Armor tip: buy like 5 comp helmets, chests, and legs and use the one with the highest slice, this will make up for carbineer's poor defenses as well, remember a 90% helmet protects TWICE as much as an 80% sliced one does. think about it.....

Using a Macro or stacking more than 2 in the Queue is only effective if you have a hot-key setup to Clear the Queue.

The MIND is a Carbineer's best weapon, use it wisely

Who needs a hotkey for /clearCombatQueue?? Just click "clear" in the combat queue window.

And in the time it takes you to do that, you are dead in PvP......or you have just landed another PD or KD and stood the other guy back up from a Dizzy/KD.....
