Thread: FireKD and the EE3

Now, I vaguely recall this in a thread a few months back.


And yes, I did an 'advanced' search for FireKD and EE3, it turned up nothing. So work with me on this one.



A guildmate tells me that FireKD *will* set someone on Fire if you use the EE3.



I, of course, immediately accused him of talking extradinary amounts of poodu.



Could someone put this to bed for me? Preferably with "x shots fired, target never went on fire".

I've never specifically tested this, because I've never heard this... But I frequently use an EE3 when running missions from my guild's player city on dant and I have never seen a janta or mokk get set on fire.

the thing is its supposed to be 'knockdownfire' but whoever coded it botched it up to say 'fireknockdown'

A non-DoT EE3 will absolutely NOT put a Fire DoT on anybody with any Special.....or it is a bug if it would, and we know there are no bugs in this game after 10's of millions of dollars and years of development

I used to live and die by EE3's and I've been MBH for quite a while.

The only thing FKD sets on fire ... is the imaginations of new BH's.

Chargeshot1 pwnz FKD for KD.

If your using FKD for the dizzy your taking quite the risk of missing a Dizzy KD.

Strange, even against Jedi Knight, I'm finding FireKD to be extremely effective. Within 3 shots, 80% of my targets are on their backs. Maybe 5-10 for Jedi, because of Saber Block.

I actually like FKD over chargeshot1 as well though I used charge2 for groups.


Once thing I really dislike about charge2 is that it will hit and attempt to KD lairs which will always fail. So, if you have 1 mob next to a lair and use charge2, you will always get the "You failed" message which can trick you into firing the special again. The thing is, if you only saw the message spam once, you actually failed on the lair and suceeded on the mob and firing it again runs the risk of running into the knockup bug on the KDed mob.


So right now, my two favorites are fireKD and charge2.


Unfortunately, I am starting to find BH/carbineer uninspiring. Just really quite one-dimensional but very good at what it does. Might be time fora switch....perhaps squad leader...

I have gotten to the point of NEVER hitting ChargeShot2 more than once every 30 seconds.....which honestly nothing in a group lasts that long in PvE anyways....


I treat ActionShot2 the same as well....one and done....

I don't think so, the description of the attack reads:


"This ranged attack blasts the target with a quick rush of flame aimed at their upper body, which can cause them to be bowled over by the sheer force directed at them, causing them to become dizzy as well."

fire kd doesnt not set people or anything for that matter on fire, it dizzy/kd's torso shot is the only shot besides commando ones that will set some on fire without having a dot weapon looted with fire

Well either way, no flame... I am a commando/carbineer on bria, mostly for my evil 1-2-3 status kill (KD-dizzy-burn) and some n00b BHstarted flaming (pun not intentional) me because according to him FKD does cause the burn DoT, and my KD/dizzy/burn combo was, according to him, useless because 1 attack does all 3 if you are a BH...


I /salute you you silly little nub, and hope to run into you again some day for a duel, you can FKD me, I'll use my own version, we'll see who gets burn DoT and who doesn't =)

Yeah, but watch your system spam carefully. I get a message for every target that I fail to KD. So if I know I have five targets in my effect cone and I see three failure messages, two of them bad boys is floppin'.
