Thread: In market for new Carbine

Have been using EE3s and Laser Carbines to level up in BH carbine tree. Right now am (1),3,0,0 BH and a couple carbineer low-level blocks (Can't remember exactly which ones - maybe 1,0,0,1).

My intent is to continue on at least until I finish BH x4xx with the carbine and maybe further in the carbineer tree. I want to take BH missions as well as PvE missions.

What carbine would you do and what slice/powerups would you get for it?

Thanks,

From the FAQ....

Which carbines should I buy and use?

The laser carbine (energy damage, medium armor penetration) is one of the best all-around weapons in the game. No carbineer should be with out a laser carbine. The DH17 snubnose (energy damage, no armor penetration) is a decent carbine though it suffers from lack of armor penetration. The EE3 (heat damage, no armor penetration) and DXR6 (acid damage, light armor penetration) carbines are useful for targets that are vulnerable to those damage types. The elite carbine (energy damage, light armor penetration) is very useful in PvP. See the section on damage mitigation for more information on the elite carbine and PvP.

For more info on carbines, see the expanded Carbine Weapon Info a few pages down in this thread.

Also an Enhanced E11 is nice, but quite frankly a Laser, EE3 and DXR6 get you all our damage types in their best form.

Read the FAQs TAfirehawk - thx.

My question was more asking what your preference would be. Based on the FAQs, I would assume the elite carbine or DXR6 would be the way to go for Jedi missions. Yet I hear all sorts of people using other weapons. Question was not soliciting a repeat of the faqs, but thx anyway.

well if your laser carbine is bad get a new one because that is the badass of the carbineer profession. Dont bother with an Elite because they get beat out by other carbines pretty easily. For PvP get yourself a speed modded DXR6 with a high end damage slice. The DXR6s can be slow so a speed modded one would help you if you arent gonna master carbineer and BH 0400. Then just kick up the damage and you are set.

My personal arsenal minus exact details (im not in game so i cant look it up but i will tell you what i remember)

-hand crafted speed modded DXR6 stocked and scoped not sliced yet but will be dmg sliced hopefully(cant really remember exact details but the speed is like high 2s i believe maybe mid 2s i just got the thing the other day)

-hand crafted speed modded Laser stocked, scoped, and barrelled with a 25% dmg slice (the thing does unpuped dmg of almost 400 i believe and min damage of just under 100, 2.9 speed)

-i also have an EE3 made in a similar fashion with a 23% dmg slice

i have an elite but i carry it around because it looks cool with a stock scope and barrel the thing is terrible to fight with

Well for jedi missions you want to use a laser, they don't have any mitigation.

I just got a bunch of new carbines made for me. Non-Krayt and I ended up (after powerup) with a 120-550dmg Laser, a 250-400 drx-6 and a 180-350 EE3as the highlights. I am quite happy.

oh and good luck hunting a jedi as any type of marksman let alone a carbineer. My true suggestion for you is to find a new profession if you want to hunt jedis.

LOL - I am getting that impression too. It's unfortunate that such an interesting weapon can't have more power somehow. This has been discussed ad nauseum, but it would be great for BHs to get their own powerful weapons in each class of weapons - weapons that were more effective against Jedi. Most people suggest getting TKM, but does this really make sense if comparing to "real" starwars events? I mean, it seems to me that any melee profession should be owned by the light saber and that ranged professions, while possibly being blocked by the LS, should have more of a chance against the Jedi.

2 pieces of advice for you

1.) remove yourself from the star wars universe when thinking of this game, it makes it less disappointing and more fun.

2.) remove and sense of logic or common sense when coming up with ideas for this games. This will bring you closer to the waysthe devs think and possibly get more of your ideas accepted.

and for your information /sarcasm was off the whole time
