i am pretty new to SWG, and was looking through the professions, and was thinking of what type of character i would like to play... and i was thinking about master commando, with master carbineer, and some medic.. i think it would be cool to use like an area attack and watch them all fall down on fire! if you've had this template before tell me about it, like the pro's and con's..

I would suggest you troll the commando forums very carefully. As far as I know, commando weapons like the flamethrower automatically make every attack AOE, so using an area attack with such a weapon would be redundant anyway. Also, as far as I know, commando is a bit broken right now. One of my guildmates is commando/pistoleer and he can area root with his flamethrower, so I guess it works to some extent.

Id be willing to bet that most of the commandos have at least tried some carbineer where as most carbineers may have not tried commando. Myself in the later. But it does sound like a lot of fun. If thats the effect your looking for you may not be disapointed. Not sure how it would stack up pvp against the "fotm" but thats not alwase important :0).

The word on the street from the commandos I know is that Commando weapons are horribly, horribly underpowered right now. They are supposed to be the massive damage dealers, but the trade off is slow refire. EXCEPT they don't have the damage output they should.
That being said, I DO like the combo. If and when the fix comes on the weapons, Carb does have some complimentary skills the Commando would find useful.

Look into doing a master melee and master carbineer. you might get what you're looking for.
