To introduce myself, since this is my first post in the Carbineer forum, I'm a weaponsmith on Flurry and have a MBH/Master Smuggler alt. I know how important SAC values are for smugglers and riflemen, but I don't have a feel for how important SAC is for Carbineers. I've read the first page here this morning and see that you all consider SAC to be highly important. As you know, there is a trade off between Damage (min/max damage and speed) and SAC.
I have a few questions please:
What is the highest tolerable SAC for a carbine when you purchase it?
Do you buy SAC power ups?
So for example, as a smuggler,
I prefer SAC<80 weapons with damage or speed power ups, because if I run out of PUPs at least my SAC is still low.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hello there
Well my Proton Carb's SAC is 85. I'd never use a weapon with a SAC higher than that, since I play around with a pistol that has 105 SAC and I can't last 1 whole minute without becoming action-dry.
Anyway I simply love this Proton Carb =)

anything over 95 is bad. i use a SAC pup though since it helps a lot. low SAC carbines will probably sell really well, ours cap at 73 so a small sacrifice in damage is worth a few points reduction in SAC.

One thing to consider is if you get a low action cost carbine you can use damage powerups instead of action cost ones. I expiremented making a few carbines and made a low SAC elite that came out 321-774 77sac after slice its 369-827. Instead of using sac powerups now I can use damage powerups making it 479-1075 with 77 sac.

It really all depends on what you are doing.
I have a few different Carbines that I carry around with me. One has a Sac Cost of about 110 (but it does 1,065 damage) andI use it for krayt and high-end hunting. This is becuase I want to keep my action pool up and do good damage so I can spam a few specials to slow down, hinder or damage the critter.
I have a 90 Sac Carbine that does 999 damage. This one i use for hunting Jedi.

I have 2 krayt carbines with 73 SAC. One has a action cost powerup which has a SAC of 51 for general fighting, and one with a damage powerup (so sac of 73) for focused PvP (like against master defenders where if you dont do enough damage, infusion just negates anything you do).
