Hello all,

I am currently a Master Combat Medic/Master Surgeon with a few pistoleer skills (I havent bought pistol whip yet so I still have Combat Exp). I have been debating for a while about switching to carbineer. I have heard that damage is close to rifle damage, but not as slow. And the specials (like ranged KD) look nice. If anyone has any opinions about the healer/carbineer combo, or opions about the carbineer in general, coul ou please let me know?

Thanks,

Phrakture, Starsider

Both thedamage and speedare theoretically in between pistols and rifles, which is true gun stat wise. In practice though if you're talking about taking pure carbineer, a rifleman at master is going to shoot faster than a carbineer at master, despite having slower guns. But as a healer type, you'll be able to heal your actionpool from the special ham costs, rifles mostly take mind so you cant really heal that.. In that way the carbineer compliments the combo better.

As for pistoleer, well, I dont really like commenting on these what's the better class things, mostly cause I think the system is flawed right now and will be (hopefully) changed soon, which might drastically change alot of these thing.. How it currently is though, if you're looking at pure pistoleer/carbineer/rifleman and not the BH skills, rifles are probably the best off because they get a +90 speed mod just from their tree. Pistols would probably rank over carbines too due to getting a higher speed mod and MUCH lower ham costs. On the other hand pistols are at a disadvantage cause of capping their speed so early, but I'm not sure how big of an issue that is before the BH pistol skills.

As for knockdowns, they're getting massive nerfs overall so I wouldnt choose a class just because of that. Pistols have had their ranged AE knockdown as one really strong point of the class, but that's about to change too from the sound of it.
