Thread: Gave up on Carbineer

Was fun while it lasted, but pistoleers have too much on us. Also riflemen, hitting our mind.. that hurts as well. (Considering I have to heal myself every 5 or6 shots with a decent laser carbine with LOW ham costs)


I might pick up carbineer again, maybe if I see improvements (couldn't talk a friend into pistoleer with me ). I still have 450k unused carbineer exp.

Well dont hold on to pistoleer too long, im can sence the nerf bat heading for that profession. Just on a side note, how were the devs oblvious to our HIGH ham costs?

Everything will be hit with the nerf bat, but speed wins in most PVP battles I've been in (a lot). Pistols have speed, I see carbineer's and riflemen more as support, hanging back and having the medical skills to help out the pistoleers out front. Just my POV.

Except that Riflemen and BH/Carbineers are capping their speed at the same value as the pistoleer anyways. Pistoleer's been dominating because of early ranged knockdowns -- they get single target ranged KD on a first tier box, we get it on a second tier combat xp box. And they just now got around to fixing AE KD for us, while master pistoleers have been enjoying it since they got master. *shrug*


I'm seeing some love down the road though, so I really think you're bugging out too early.

It's not ranged kd on the first tier combat box. That's melee defense, not ranged. Targethas to be within 7 meters of pistoleer.


Hope they get rid of knockdowns anyway it makes everyone cry.

KDs are great. Its the resists that dont work. If you had +80 to KD then what would it matter. I can see the need for some kinda timer but not 30secs. Maybe your target can only be KD'd or Postured ever 15sec with a max of 3-5secs. But remember the Combat Resist (cannot think of the name) is suppose to help in reducing that time. However it doesn't work.

Greetings. I disagree with the statement that rifles and carbines are support. Carbines are akin to submachine guns. Carbineers should be the all purpose gun toting composite wearing in the front lines shooting like a maniac people. Rifleman are should be more of the long range support fire and sniper specialist tree. Pistols should be more of a common protection weapon. Preferred by most people who aren't soldier types do to it's closer range. Think of the movies. Pistols were used by smuggler or shady types (Han and Greedo), as well as people like Luke or Leia who used them for protection. Note how pistoleers in the movies don't wear armor. The GCW officers on both sides also seemed to carry pistols more often than not.


Rifles make very few appearances in the movies. There are sand people who use them for sniping, or the few troopers who are seem with them who most likely use them as supporting fire for a squad.


Carbines are the bread and butter of the soldier types. Storm troopers, battle droids, etc.


The game and itsimplementation of these weapons should reflect this.

I've heard from Holo (or read rather) in his own words that Pistoleers are overpowered. Expect the nerf bat to strike.
