Thread: just starting out what attack should I use

i am a 0-0-0-1 which attack should i use when fighting pickets and stuff, and what attack is best if i get surrounded??

fullautosingle2 'til master (and even then if using damage slices w/out attachments)...tho mix in a bleed (actionshot1)to get posture(down) occasionally while you kite them to slow them down.

for groups...use fullautoarea2 enough to get them stun/blind and hit w/ actionshot2 occasionally to kneel'em. burst2 for the cone dmg once you get it...tho i'd still use some ffa1/faa2 to get them blind/stun first.

Yes, I completely agree with pentjak. Although I would also recommend to get a good DXR6 if you dont already have one, seeing as how most MOBs have no resists against acid.

These guys pretty much nailed it. The only thing I'd add would be to throw in a charge shot here and there since you have it. You can get one or two hits in that will do added damage while the creature is down. I find that helps quite a bit.

hmmmmmmmmmmm prob with charge shot is that it will damage your gun alot faster than any-other move but i do find charge shot a great skill when low in the skill tree, once you get near top of the tree you can get cripple shot and even though this attack is slow it can do alot of damage last night i did 4015 damage with it, i was camping but hey how else you going to kill a rancor

hate to nitpick, but just wanna make it clear that unless you cap fullautosingle2 at 1sec/shot, it's not at all worth using cripplingshot...


fullautosingle: 1.7x delay...5.5x dmg...5.5/1.7 = 3.23
cripplingshot: 2.5x delay...7.5x dmg...7.5/2.5 = 3.00


that yields a 8% more dps using fullautosingle2 as long as attack_speed> 1sec/shot. w/ the online dps calculator it comes out 9% dps increase...but it's counting fullautosingle2 as a 3.7x dmg mod (not factoring in the 1.5x base on carbine stats that nova worked into his figures).


so you're going to be doing more damage, and applying stun/blind/dizzy on your target randomly...simply put, at master w/ no attachments you have +60speed and require a 1.4spd carbine to cap fullautosingle2...and require a 1.3spd carbine to get cripplingshot_dps > fullautosingle2_dps.


guess the only argument for cripplingshot in this situation would be if you use powerups or a very expensive weapons that you don't want to decay quicker w/ firing faster or just too lazy to put powerups on quicker (i know i am)...but as far as effectiveness, fullautosingle2 or bust!.

cheers didnt know that from now on i will use auto2 instead, i have only just got 4343 on carbiner so i have just started using cripple shot didnt know it was so sucky
