Hello all i'm a new Carbie 0000 . I like pvp battles, dont want to be the FOTM and carbines have always interested me. I was wanting what would be the best combo with carbines for PvP. Ive been away from the game for 2 months now.

I was thinking

Carb/CM - ability to help heal and poison/desease

Carb/CH - Not sure if Ch's could be as powerful as they used to.

Carb/Bh Carb - looks to be a really good carb combo.

Really im looking for a fun to do PvP combo, but not the overpowered FOTM. (Rifle/cm) or TK (did that once. Man could i dish out and take damage)

Thnx for the input.

Carb/BH or Carb/CM are good combos.

CH sucks for PvP, so thats out.

If your not interested in doing a melee profession for damage, you could perhaps dabble in fencer/TK for the defenses and augment your carbine skills with attachments. or you could do carbineer/doctor.

Would doing a Carb/Mele ouput more damage than a pure ranged carb?

I used to do swords and that was kind of cool, also I head the fencer defences rock. The only issue I see with this is, most of the PvP I witness is ranged base.

Also though about a Carb/Pike - full aoe player ( but i hear the pike is not totally fixed yet, and to do a pike PvP its all about the dots on the weaps)

well, most of the ranged PvP i see is riflemen, and the only pure carbs template i can think of to beat one in a ranged fight is master carbineer/BH carbines 4.

in PvP, a carbineer/melee will probably have equal or higher damage output than a Bh/carbineer, and also the defenses are very nice, but its usually what you prefer.

and yes, pikeman is all about the DoTs. if your a pikeman, you DoT or you die

A Master Carb/Master Doc template would also be very nice and its something I'm thinking of doing.

In pvp I use carbines solely for ranged stun (for pistoleer/fencers) or KD (for everyone else). Then I run in and do headshots with my vk until they're dead.

But if they got good comp, it's real hard...

Fencer/Carbineer is a good combo since then you can get a stun weapons. A good composite makes our weapons ineffective.

I was a master carbineer / master doc / novice scoutfor quite some time.

Good for PvE - you're buffed, you can heal ridiculous amounts of damage, large groups of creatures are just your cup of tea, and if you get poisoned or diseased... who cares, you can heal it. Using muon/smuggler's delight/vag. canape to keep your mind poolsuntouchable, you're a rancorcorpse maker.

Unfortunately, very weak PvP - you can't target specific stat pools, you have virtually no chance of kd'ing a player using the new foods, and our carbines do terribly poor damage against most good composite.

All in all it's a good support for a larger PvP group, you can buff but you're not defenseless. For duels, just say no.

In the process of moving into a Master Carbineer / Master TKA /4443 Medic template... looking forward to dealing out the close-in damage that only a TKA can offer to complement the state changes and such that the Carbine offers while still being able to heal myself. We'll see how it turns out.

the bonus for carb/bh carbs is u get the counterattack while holding a carb plus the added speed/accuracy and specials.

this makes you very offensive but ud need some good armour to help on defence, also maxing out your counterattack will help.

a CM would go better with a rifleman due to the fact they can target the mind pool

BH/Carb is a popular build, gives you the combined offensive power of BH and Crippleshot with the ability to hit the speed cap with any special and any carbine. Probably the best Strictly Carbine PvP build.

CM/Carbine, while CMs usefulness usually stems from the use of mind poison and disease, you can still get action poisons and diseases, will alot harder to drop your opponent's action pool and anyone with Novice Medic will be able to pick him up off the floor if you ever do manage it.

Pike/Carbine, would be great as someone mention earlier on in this thread. My main PvP Partner is Pikeman/Doc and he has some insane equipment. He has 2 lances, one with Mind Fire (ticks abouts 288)and Mind Poison(ticks about 176) which is nuts, not to mention his NS Lances if hefeels the need to really ruin his opponents day.He has aspin attack macro that applies thoseDOT's to everyone near him, it is reallyquite interesting to watch him land them on 2 or 3 people at once and those people on their asses 20 seconds later and incapped from the fire.

My Build is Carbine/Swordsman, i really liked the idea of having a giant hammer, basically iuse my carbine to keep my opponents at bay so i can engage them on my terms with my giant hammer. I hitfor around 1300 MindDamage inPvP with it. Usually by the time those Mind DOTs have settled in and my carbines have down their dirty work my swordsman skills just serve to help with clean-up.
